<p>The George R. Brown Convention Center, in downtown Houston, was packed last weekend as it hosted one of the most anticipated tournaments in the club volleyball season for Texas players, the Lone Star Regionals.</p>

<p>With almost 600 teams entered to compete in the 12 divisions, the tournament offered another opportunity for clubs to qualify for the upcoming Girls Junior National Championship and attracted competitors from all over the Lone Star State.</p>

<p>Prep Dig was in attendance on Saturday, when we got to watch 12 of the 54 teams that competed in the 17 Bid division. We'll now use the week to highlight the ones that stood out with their play, this time featuring the outside hitters that made a difference for their teams.</p>

With the team's leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id='212726' first='Mya' last='Allen'] sidelined due to an injury, she stepped up and played a big role for them, contributing on both sides of the ball. The outside hitter was excellent with her ball control, giving the team a lot of stability in serve-receive and also delivering some important digs. A middle turned into an outside hitter, she brought a lot of firepower to the court and was the team's main scoring option over the weekend. Very tall and physical, Ozuna had no problem scoring points as she used her power and good offensive variation to beat blockers and defenders - she was excellent when hitting a quicker set near the middle. Wilson was always very explosive in her approach and that often gave her the edge against opposing blockers. Garcia had to face difficult situations facing double blocks at times, but found ways to beat them on most occasions, displaying great vision and resources. A very technical player, she was huge for them on the backcourt, having a major role in the team's serve-receive system and also generating several transition opportunities with her strong defense.
