Actyve 16 Black

Actyve is led by head coach Jon Daze. They won their bid by getting an At-Large bid due to their finish at the Northern Lights National Qualifier. There are a few baller son this squad who we know of very well. They have been listed on our Ranking List because they are some of the best in the state. [player_tooltip player_id='288679' first='Ava' last='McBride'] is one of the best to do it on the sport court. The fix foot one setter/right side has so much versatility and gives her team a winning advantage because of it. She can swing away and scores in a variety of ways on the opposite side of the court. As a setter she is silky smooth and the ball floats so effortlessly to her pins. Outside hitter Grace Johnson is a skilled scorer who can bang with lots of power. She definitely take a lot of pressure off of other pins with her contributions. One of the main weapons that this squad has is [player_tooltip player_id='394276' first='Bridget' last='Blu'] who just sky-rocketed up our State Ranking List in our most recent update. The entire volleyball world is ranting and raving about her potential and she is the talk of a lot of college coaching conversations happening now. As an attacker, she is a pure scorer with a ton of upside as a six rotation player. The other half of the six-two offense is Sidney Proctor-Johnson who feeds all of her hungry hitters very well. She can move the ball from pin to pin to keep the defense honest and guessing. With a solid back row team of [player_tooltip player_id='511345' first='Karys' last='Campos'] and [player_tooltip player_id='339983' first='Sage' last='Meidroth'], there are not many balls that are going to hit the floor. This duo is scary good at digging hard driven balls and angling passes to their setters. Middle Paloma Vergara has amazing timing on the block and adds to her team's solid core of players. We will be watching them very closely and you should also.

Houston Stellar 16 Elite

Houston Stellar won their bid at the Show Me National Qualifier this season. They are led by head coach Sarah Aguilar and have some great finishes in big tournaments this season. The outside hitting duo of [player_tooltip player_id='254073' first='Avery' last='Koonsen'] and Belle Seibert do a great job of keeping the team in every match. They are deadly from the service line and find a ton of ways to score at the net. Navaeh English on the right side, Julia Wright, [player_tooltip player_id='538584' first='Alana' last='Evans'], and Audrina Silva out of the middle provide some solid blocking against any opposition. You can see a lot of great technique in their skills so that tells me that they are coached really well. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='518983' first='Caryme' last='Molina'] is an ace serving machine for this squad. It is pin point accurate and has a nasty float to it at times. Even when the receiver is positioned well, they still have a very hard time getting behind it. Their entire roster really plays well together and you can see that they are playing for each other. Miss Koonsen is one of those hitters who can score from any location. I like how she contacts the ball at the peak of her reach, making it very tough for defenders to time her attack. This kind of offensive weapon will keep this team relevant and ready for anyone who comes in front of them. They have the kind of teamwork and defense that can go for a solid run at nationals if they keep up their momentum. Stay tuned for more on this talented squad.
