Expert Analysis
Michelle Bamford | Prep Dig Scout
I have been playing volleyball since I was 11-years old. I have competed at the highest level for my age group, and I thrive in high pressure situations.
I enjoy doing the extra work it takes to get better everyday. I’m consistent in my training and feel so fortunate to train with amazing coaches and mentors. Their guidance not only strengthens my skills but also gives me a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to grow every day.
This year I joined a new team and it’s been important for me to build a bond and trust with my new teammates. They have shown me so much support. This sense of unity is what makes our team special.
On the court, my philosophy is to never give up on a play. My favorite plays are running down a ball and doing whatever I can to get it up or over.
When I am not training or practicing for indoor volleyball, I also love to play beach volleyball. I play for South Bay Sand and for the Mira Costa High School beach team as well. I enjoy being creative and doing art projects. I am currently in AP Art at my high school. When I was younger, I played multiple sports including soccer, softball and basketball. I come from a family of athletes and surfers, and also love to surf.

“I am so excited for this year’s Triple Crown event. I am focused on taking care of my body and mindset going into the tournament. My Actyve team is continuing to prepare and practice hard this week. We also have a special practice where Kirsten Jones author of Raising Empowered Athletes is joining us to talk about mindset ahead of the tournament.
We have a light serve and pass practice on Friday night in Kansas City to get a good feel for the venue. Then we will have a team dinner and get to bed to be ready for an early start to competition on Saturday! I can’t wait!” Quote provided to Michelle Bamford @ Prep Dig

“I thought it was so cool to be playing in a professional sports stadium. We got to play and connect as team beyond practice and tournaments which was incredible. My team and I are so grateful to be apart of this unique experience.”

Sage Meidroth has no fear of getting down on the floor for a dig, tip, or to receive an attack, she stays ready. She added ball control during gameplay, passing the ball well, and starting the offense. Meidroth was ready to get every ball she could. She has good attributions of consistency, good passing and digging abilities along with quickness and ball handling skills. Looking forward to her future in the sport and watching her play.
