'27s with Big Performances at the Gauntlet

The class of 2027 was on fire at the Gauntlet. They played at a very high level and really impressed me. Many players were new to me, and It was fun to see them so early in their prep careers. Here are some of the 2027s who made a huge impact at the Gauntlet.    Audrey is a lefty, right-side hitter who plays in all six rotations. She really impressed me with her high-level communication and the impact she had on every point. She is aggressive on offense and a weapon in both the front and back rows. It was evident why she is a top-ten player in Indiana.     Finley was confident and took control of the court. She was a leader for her team and wasn't afraid to direct traffic and call shots for her hitters. She is a player who has been on our radar, but I haven't had the opportunity to see her play. I liked how she was a leader in serve receive and fearless on defense.     Taylor is a pin who is dynamic and well-rounded. She can swing effectively on both pins and is a go-to hitter. Her consistent manufacturing of points makes her an impact player. She also really impressed me with her defense.     Lola ran a 5-1 for 1st Alliance 15 Silver and did a great job. She was a positive presence on the court and ran down every ball she could reach. Her fundamentals were solid, and she kept every hitter involved. It is tough to run a 5-1, and Lola did it with poise and discipline.     Freya caught my eye because of the amount of space she takes up on serve receive. She really covers a lot of space and helps alleviate pressure on her pins. She is well-rounded, communicates well, and has a lot of potential. Freya has all the makings of a great libero and will be a player to watch.     Ellisyn was a consistent force for [program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite']. She is a pin with the potential to be a high-level 6-rotation athlete. She had a great balance of shots, tips, and powerhouse swings. Her defense and serve receive were also notable. What stood out was how she positively impacted nearly every play whether it was on offense, defense, or serve receive.     Brier immediately stood out to me because of her great form. Whether she was receiving a perfect pass or on the move, Brier's footwork and hands were spot on. She rarely made an error at the Gauntlet and made really smart decisions. Brier was hard to read and did not give up her decisions too early, which gave her pins some open blocks throughout the weekend.     What sets Brenna apart is her speed. It was the first thing I typed in my notes app about her. She can get her hands on nearly any ball, and that makes her effective. Her decision-making is also superb. She can feed her hitters from nearly anywhere on the court and has the makings of a great setter.     Ella is a pin who could develop into an unstoppable 6-rotation athlete. She has a huge vertical and is athletic. She is simply solid in all of her skills and is a natural leader on the court. She has a high volleyball IQ and is an impact player on nearly every play.     Emma has so many positive attributes as a pin. From her intangibles to her skills, she impressed me as an all-around athlete. She took big swings and learned from her mistakes. She wasn't afraid to take tough shots, and a lot of times, the risk paid off.     Clara had some of the best ball control at the Gauntlet in this division. She controlled the backcourt so well. The amount of space she covers on any given play is impressive. Her teammates trust her to have their back in coverage, and she communicates at a high level.     Audrey was absolutely fearless in the back row at the Gauntlet. She never missed a beat and was all over the court on every play. Her scrappiness kept even the toughest plays alive. She was electric to watch on the court and a libero who made a huge impact.     Charlie was one of the top liberos at the Gauntlet. She has a clean and consistent contact on the ball. What really set her apart was how well she read and reacted to serves and swings coming her way. She easily took up half the court at any given moment. And even her scramble touches were playable and usually 2-option passes. She made tough, jaw-dropping plays look easy.
