Finley VanLannen
About Finley
Expert Analysis
Theresa Hickman | Prep Dig Scout
Finley VanLannen competes with range and urgency. VanLannen’s first step is explosive, allowing her to close on short tips and deep corner swings with equal efficiency. She maintains a strong defensive base and keeps her shoulders square through contact, minimizing shanks under pressure.
This weekend at Triple Crown, expect Finley VanLannen to impact long rallies. She thrives in scramble situations, converting off-speed shots and tight angles into playable transition balls. Against elite offenses, her court awareness and pursuit motor will stand out. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Finley is another player with a great volleyball IQ. On top of her physical talent, her intangibles are amazing to watch. She is confident and a natural leader on the court. She communicates well and works to improve her team on every play.

Finley was confident and took control of the court. She was a leader for her team and wasn’t afraid to direct traffic and call shots for her hitters. She is a player who has been on our radar, but I haven’t had the opportunity to see her play. I liked how she was a leader in serve receive and fearless on defense.

Finley is as scrappy as they come. No ball is ever down when she is in the back row. Finley can run down nearly any ball and gets great touches on defense. She is gritty and proves that defense is a mindset, because no matter how tough the hit is, she will do anything to keep it alive.
