Class of 2025 State Rankings Players to Know: Liberos

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Prep Dig Texas State Rankings were updated last month in a moment that was long expected for volleyball prospects in the Lone Star State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>More than moving players up and down in a list, the rankings update offers us an opportunity to paint a more realistic picture of the current scenario in Texas and highlight the prospects who experienced significant development over the last few months.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The process of updating the rankings also gives us, Prep Dig scouts, the perfect excuse to learn more and more about the players, be it by attending matches or tournaments in person or researching online, and now with the list released, it's time we share some of our findings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over the last few weeks, I've been going over the rankings, highlighting some players in each class. With the Classes of 2027 and 2026 already covered, it's time we look into the 2025s. She's taller than the average libero at 5'9", which allows her to get to balls others wouldn't and is extremely technically gifted as well, making some impressive saves. Pitts is one of the best passing liberos in the country and that's because she never deviates from her well-trained technical gestures. She's fearless and very tough on the backcourt and will do whatever it takes to keep the ball off the floor. Extremely technical and quick, Black is always very active and gets to cover a lot of ground both on defense and serve-receive. Technically, it's her ball control that stands out the most, but the libero is one of those who does all the little things well, including serving and passing. She's also extremely athletic and that propels her to get to balls that look out of reach at first glance. She recently returned to action after a severe knee injury and only a player with such solid technical foundations would be able to get back playing so well as she did. Besides being very technical, Schramm is also extremely agile and it's easy to see her flying around on the backcourt chasing balls. She has excellent body control and is extremely effective with how she positions it to make contact with the ball every single time, which makes of her a reliable passer and defender. Welch works very hard to keep the ball off the floor and is very good at making diving digs.
