There was no shortage of college-level prospects on the court during the Abilene Spiketacular June 27-28.

The main issue I had at the tournament was with seven courts of action taking place at once which match I should watch.

I scouted a total of six matches over two days. This group of athletes caught my eye during the summer high school tournament. I would like to thank Abilene High School for the hospitality and the respect shown to me by the coaches and athletes I talked with.

[player_tooltip player_id='514813' first='Arabell' last='Razzano'], 5'6”, S, Wamego, ‘25

Razzano arguably was one of the top setters I watched in Abilene. She is currently ranked No. 164 overall in the class of 2025. The Wamego prospect can expect to be ranked higher when updated rankings are released next week. She finished with 16 assists in a two-set win over Smith Center. She made me yell out loud with one of her sets. It came off a low pass and I have no idea how she managed to get it up for an attackable ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='557767' first='Ava' last='Smith'], 5'9”, OH, Valley Heights, ‘26

Smith was the biggest surprise on Friday. She is currently unranked but that will be remedied in July. The outside hitter for Valley Heights is quite athletic. She had a solid all-around match in a loss to Beloit. She recorded six kills, five digs, and six serve receptions for the Mustangs. Her skills are still slightly raw, but she has two years to continue to evolve her game. The natural athletic skills are in place for the Valley Heights youngster.

Brecken Boudreux, 5'8”, RS, Beloit, ‘26

Boudreux is a jumper. It would be easy to overlook her game on a senior-laden Beloit squad with two committed college athletes on the front row. The sophomore has a sneaky serve and is a six-rotation prospect. She finished with five kills, four digs, four serve receptions, one block, and an ace in the opening match against Abilene. She hits the ball hard and plays with high energy. She is sure to be the future emotional leader of the Trojans.

[player_tooltip player_id='554328' first='Ryann' last='Langvardt'], 6'1”, MB, Wamego, ‘26

After her performance in Abilene, Wamego's Langvardt will be a new addition to the class of 2026 rankings. She is a physical athlete with a big reach. She recorded eight kills for Wamego in their win over Smith Center. She is a talent opposing teams can not overpass against or they'll be eating a Tachikara Sandwich for lunch. Wamego is missing a couple of weapons due to an injury, but Langvardt stepped up her game at the summer tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='557770' first='Lillie' last='Heiland'], 5'7”, DS/L, Smith Center, ‘26

Heiland is a young and raw libero for Smith Center. She is her team's floor and emotional leader. She is light on her feet and willing to sacrifice her body to dig well-placed hits. Smith Center was a team I am not sure I would have seen at any other time. Discovering a prospect like Heiland is why I continue to scout.

[player_tooltip player_id='518977' first='Landry' last='Litton'], 5'8”, OH, Beloit, ‘28

Freshmen are difficult to scout, but it becomes way easier when they are as polished as Litton. Litton is currently ranked No. 9 overall in the class of 2028, but don't be surprised if she climbs a couple of notches the next time the rankings are updated. She is a six-rotation talent as a freshman. She moves well and plays solid defense. Litton finished with seven digs, five serve receptions, and three kills. There were multiple times she let the ball play her instead of playing the ball, but that's a part of the learning process. She has a nasty serve with a serious late dive. She is very coachable and has the special talent and attitude which comes from being in an athletic family.
