Sixteen teams gathered on the Washburn University Campus to participate in the MO/KAN Top 10 Tournament on June 12.

Prep Dig was in attendance and scouted four matches. Here is the first of two reports featuring standout athletes from the class of 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='173375' first='Addison' last='Budke'], 6'0”, OH, Beloit, ‘25

Budke had the most dominant match by an athlete heading into her senior season. The Beloit outside hitter is ranked No. 10 and committed to Nebraska-Kearney. She finished with 12 kills in a two-set split against Spring Hill. She hits the ball with authority and never seems to disappoint me.

[player_tooltip player_id='219714' first='Ayla' last='Klingenberg'], 6'0”, OH, Rock Creek, ‘25

Klingenberg had a huge match in a win over Beloit in round three of Pool B action. She is currently ranked No. 26 overall by Prep Dig. It was the first time I had seen her play in person and she did not disappoint. She recorded 10 kills, two digs, one block, and one ace against the Trojans. She has a nice serve, a smooth approach, and jumps like a “Super Ball.” She is currently uncommitted, but I would recommend her to Division II, NAIA, and JUCO coaches in Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='493461' first='Sydney' last='Buscher'], 5'10, Spring Hill, ‘25

Buscher is a lefty who had a nice match against Beloit. She is ranked No. 34 and committed to Washburn. She seemed to enjoy playing in front of her future college coaches and teammates. She registered six kills in the match against Beloit.

[player_tooltip player_id='580753' first='Katie' last='Linenberger'], 6'1”, MH/RS, Hays ‘25

This was the first time I scouted Hays' Linenberger. She is a physical hitter with a big reach who played front row only for her squad. She had three kills and two blocks in a two-set split with McPherson. She has solid blocking technique and is currently uncommitted.

[player_tooltip player_id='349385' first='Ava' last='Esser'], 6'1”, OH, Seaman, ‘25

Esser is currently ranked No. 124 overall in the class of 2025. She recently committed to Johnson County Community College joining her setter [player_tooltip player_id='219715' first='Campbell' last='Chabot']. Esser will be leaned on heavily this fall after returning from an ACL injury, and since the Vikings lost one of their top hitters who transferred to Hayden.
