Postseason Performers: U16 Washington Liberos

Teams traveled to Las Vegas and Orlando, respectively, to compete against some of the nation's best and most tested teams. Betschart operates in a two-libero system with [player_tooltip player_id='252326' first='Grey' last='Durham'], giving Oly Reign two excellent defenders wearing the jersey. The Tumwater High School prospect plays tips and rolls cleanly, getting good reads on hitters and setters looking to dump. Sanchez traveled with Athena 16 Gold to Las Vegas and finished with a 5-5 record in the American Division. She delivered from the service line, sending over a flat jump float from the far left service line that consistently kept opposing setters working from behind the 10" line. Sanchez is a good passer of serves that are well in front of her, she will get low and drop to a knee to give her team a solid pass. She gets after it in serve receive with a good understanding of angles and her platform, dropping dimes for her setters. Her comfort level with angles carries over defensively. In a match against Advantage 16 Teal Ng flawlessly handled vicious swings going right or left into the seam. The 2027 from Kamiakin was pretty easy to identify in the bright green Shockwave libero jersey, and in some matches, teams played keep away in serve receive. When Beck had the chance to pass, she dropped it into her setters without breaking a sweat.
