USAV GJNC Preview: 2027 Top Passers

The USAV Girls Junior National Championships are fast approaching, which will take place from July 3rd through the 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Top teams from across the country are currently preparing to compete in hopes of representing their club and region well. Many teams from the CEVA Region were awarded bids and are eager to show the country what volleyball from the Pacific Northwest looks like!     Leading up to the tournament, PrepDig Oregon will highlight players to watch from each of the CEVA teams that received bids.    Up now, the top passers from the class of 2027 in attendance!    Horn has honed in on her ball control this club season with NPJ 15-1 National and flourished as one of their two libero's in rotation. Her skill will undoubtedly be key in the team's success battling in the 15 American division at USAV Nationals. She is athletic and dynamic on the court and quickly reacts to balls outside of her zone. Her ability to read the court and place herself in a good position to dig was noted.     Castillo has been a key defender for OJVA 15-1 Gold this season and her talents will be put to use as the team competes in the 15 National division at USAV Nationals. Typically utilized as the defensive libero, she has made some huge technical improvements this club season and is reading the game at a higher level. She anticipates and reacts well, staying light on her feet.       Lebeck has been the anchor for Athena 15-1 Gold's backrow this club season and her skill will be needed as the team competes in the 15 Freedom division at USAV Nationals. Her skill is miles ahead of her age, displaying top notch ball control, defense and serve receive skills, playing with a certain cool confidence. The defensive range and amount of court she takes is impressive to watch.        Freeman has flexed her versatility this season for OJVA 15-1 Gold, but in key games, she has been seen in the libero jersey. Her skill will be critical in her team's ability to compete in 15 National at USAV Nationals. At 5'11”, she is starting to develop her attacking abilities, but she shines across the backcourt. Aided by early angles and a sound platform, she displays consistent serve-receive, getting the ball to the setter time and time again.     Morse has seen court time as one of two liberos in rotation for NPJ Salem 15-1 National and will be a vital part of the teams backcourt playing in the 15 American division USAV Nationals. She is confident on serve receive, maintaining good spacing between her body and her platform. Her ability to feed the pins well placed out of system balls using her platform was noted.     McKibben has proved herself to be an asset this season with Webfoot 16-1 Elite and will be key to the team's success in the 16 Patriot division at USAV Nationals. She moves around the court with confidence and ease, controlling the ball back in play on defense.
