Positional breakdowns tell us a lot about (1) what college coaches have already procured for their recruiting classes here in Indiana, and (2) the staggering amount of talent still available at this time of year. Here are five middles who, amazingly, are still available for a commitment from the class of '25.

[player_tooltip player_id='172316' first='Ava' last='Gutt'], 5-11 MB/RS, Fishers

A recent transfer from Hamilton Southeastern, Ava is a long and lean attacker that can step in as the M2 at any school that needs one. her two-footed attack is above-average, her length allows her attack touch to be higher than expected, and has a ton of high-level club training under her belt. I also like her length for her net defense---it's because of this length that I list "RS" as a position option for Miss Gutt.

[player_tooltip player_id='282018' first='Cienna' last='Lapsley'], 6-1 MB, Concordia Lutheran

From the Fort Wayne area, Cienna probably has the highest attack touch of the five listed today. Springy and quick, she recently spent this past club season with the Samurai at Munciana, adding to that full set of skills she already has. Her multi-sport athleticism makes her a prime candidate for dual sport play at a small college near you, which is fine with her, considering her constant motor.

[player_tooltip player_id='192113' first='Ava' last='Tindall'], 6-0 MB, Homestead

I'm sensing a theme with today's middles I listed. All are exceptional M2's at their respective schools and clubs, and Miss Tindall is no different. I'm a fan of her defensive play, as her blocking is disciplined enough to make the defenders behind her have a much easier job. Solid and consistent, Ava's season at Munciana allowed her skills to stand out on an open-level stage.

[player_tooltip player_id='172317' first='Ryleigh' last='Hamilton'], 5-11 MB, Southport

Recently named as one of Central Indiana's top players by the Indianapolis Star, Ryleigh has the ability to be either the M1 or the M2 at the next level. She can attack over smaller middles while making larger, Division I-ready middles look slow by comparison. She has all the angles at her disposal when hitting, and does all of this on a slight frame that has the ball come at you harder than expected. Smart and savvy with high volleyball acuity, Ryleigh will be a gem to develop at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='586736' first='Harper' last='Holden'], 6-0 MB, Greenfield-Central

Big and physical, Harper has seen her fair share of coaching changes at the high school level. No matter for her---she's done everything every coach has ever asked of her, and asked for more. I like her ability to be ready to hit at a moment's notice, her length to defend from pin to pin, and her highly coachable demeanor. In short, Harper has been one of my favorites in this class BECAUSE of her character. If you sign Harper, know that you're getting a good kid with good work ethic and size that translates well to the next level.
