Who earned the right to be called a Top Performer? We saw some amazing players who wanted to improve their stock. The first session was held on Saturday July 27th at the Competitive Edge Training facility in Houston, TX. The one aspect that sets our showcases apart from every other one in the country is how we offer coverage, before, during, and after it is completed. This series of articles will discuss those special players that stood out for various reasons to our court coaches and scouts. They have won our prestigious Top Performer award. Let's meet the winners!

[player_tooltip player_id='579850' first='MaKayla' last='White'] [2025] 6-3 Middle (HS: Hays/Club: Austin Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)

MaKayla is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but is on our official Watch List. She plays volleyball at Jack C. Hays High School and plays for the Austin Skyline club program. Miss White is no stranger to us at Prep Dig as we have watched her progress very quickly in her position over the last two years. It was very nice to see her attend the showcase against some solid competition. She was one of the top middles in the entire gym for the two hours of play. Multiple coaches mentioned her bounce and lateral movement while patrolling the net to block. She was very coachable and shows that she has a very high ceiling to keep improving. I think she is a diamond in the rough that college coaches should take notice of now. I love how she kept her arms high while blocking and then used them to press over the net well to seal it away. As a blocker, her timing also stood out to me as she was a force to be reckoned with against all opponents that she went up against. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award.

[player_tooltip player_id='517258' first='Gillian' last='Wolf'] [2026] 5-11 Outside (HS: Cinco Ranch/Club: [program_tooltip program_id='431166' first='Houston' last='Juniors']/Verbal: Uncommitted)

Gillian is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays volleyball at Cinco Ranch High School and club for the [program_tooltip program_id='431166' first='Houston' last='Juniors'] volleyball program. Miss Wolf was a standout for more than one reason. We, as coaches, talk a lot about intangibles that players bring to each team and Gillian was the epitome of quite a few of them. One thing that cannot be measured in how positivity in one player rubs off on others. This young lady has one of the best attitudes that I have seen in a long time and I have been in the sport for the last 24 years. I absolutely loved having her in the gym and in our Prep Dig shirt. She brought joy to everyone who was in her presence and it was amazing to get to know. As far as her skills are concerned, they are just as amazing. She proved to be a star at the net battling against anyone who was in her way. She has a very live arm that can throttle the ball when she swings away. I love how she can turn in mid-air and drill the line to hit around the block. Her heels rarely hit the floor during her shuffle steps out to her touch point and while she approaches. This keeps her bouncy and quick off of the ground. She is a natural leader who can bring a lot to a team with her verbal leadership. I will absolutely keep my eye on her and you should as well. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award at the showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='580023' first='Kambree' last='Gonzalez'] [2027] 5-1 Libero (HS: Randall/Club: Next Level North/Verbal: Uncommitted)

Kambree is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays volleyball at Randall High School and also for the Next Level North volleyball club program. Miss Gonzalez had a few coaches comment to me about her play in the back row. She has a very solid base that is steady and balanced at the point of contact with the ball. This base should keep her very consistent in serve receive passing for years to come. Her compact frame is strong but yet she still has such a soft natural contact with her platform that rebounds the ball very nicely. I love how she doesn't move her platform much when the ball rebounds off of her arms. This will ensure that there is no extra movement on the ball while it is being delivered toward her setter. In younger players, it is essential that they focus on this aspect and it is very refreshing to see Kam do this at her young age. You can really tell that she has a passion for her position. Travelling so far to attend the showcase is one thing, but then showing out while you are there tells me that she is committed to her craft. I will for sure keep my eye on her progress and college coaches should also. Please help us congratulate her on earning the Top Performer award for this showcase.
