Texas High School Report Vol 2

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Texas High School volleyball season is now upon us.&nbsp; Last season there were some amazing teams and super competitive matches that took place.&nbsp; Everyone is practicing hard to solidify their lineups in order to chase the ultimate prize, a State Championship.&nbsp; There have been some big tournaments that have happened over the past few weeks and we are already starting to see some fireworks.&nbsp; Let's take a closer look at who is standing out for these teams on the rise.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Liberty Hill Panthers</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This squad has been on an absolute tear already this season starting off at an impressive 20-0 on the year.&nbsp; They are senior led squad who is ready to make a name for themselves on the national scene.&nbsp; They are a very well oiled machine who gets a lot of offensive contribution from a variety of players.&nbsp; It all starts with the bight shine of superstar senior outside hitter and captain [player_tooltip player_id='314728' first='Taylor' last='Gaines'].&nbsp; We have been following her for a while and she is an absolute stud all over the court.&nbsp; She leads the team in kills because of her electric vertical and golden arm swing.&nbsp; The kill leaderboard will have her spot solidified for the entire year for sure.&nbsp; Sensational senior outside [player_tooltip player_id='180216' first='Annie' last='Witt'] can score in a bunch of ways and does so very effectively.&nbsp; Her production is an integral part of this team's success.&nbsp; She has also been named as a captain and will help lead this team to greatness.&nbsp; Senior [player_tooltip player_id='455703' first='Ava' last='Kostroun']'s play in the middle has been stellar.&nbsp; She runs many routes well and connects well with her setters.&nbsp; She has also been a blocking machine at the net on defense.&nbsp; Fellow senior middle Aubrey Hughes has also gotten in on the action in both offense and defense for the Panthers.&nbsp; Another solid senior for this squad is setter [player_tooltip player_id='354307' first='Ava' last='Hight'] who is acing up the opposition from the service line and dishing the rock to all of these awesome hitters.&nbsp; Her counterpart in the 6-2 offense is sophomore Addison Betzen.&nbsp; Miss Betzen has really stepped up to help fun this high-octane offense and not skip a beat when she rotates in.&nbsp; Senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='180180' first='Brooklyn' last='Escobar'] is racking up the digs and service receptions quickly as she is all over the back row keeping the ball in play.&nbsp; Liberty Hill is set to run the table again in their district and make another lengthy run in the playoffs with their senior leadership.&nbsp; Stay tuned for more on their season as we watch closely.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Fulshear Chargers</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Chargers have been no stranger to the state playoffs and have had a lot of success over the past few years.&nbsp; This season they are primed for another solid year on the hardwood.&nbsp; Stellar senior outside [player_tooltip player_id='179898' first='Bailey' last='Warren'] is their big gun and she has tons of ammo left in her arsenal.&nbsp; This young lady can flat out score the ball with the best of them on the pins.&nbsp; Her efficiency as an attacker is key as she is hitting .353 on the year in sixteen matches so far this season.&nbsp; That kind of efficiency is what will keep their winning traditions alive.&nbsp; Senior pin [player_tooltip player_id='225557' first='Lauren' last='Witte'] is another reason why this team is so hot.&nbsp; Her offensive output has been super consistent and takes a ton of pressure off of other attackers.&nbsp; Senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='253963' first='Alexys' last='James'] runs the show for this awesome squad.&nbsp; There is no question who the leader is as she delivers the ball very well.&nbsp; Superstar senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='179896' first='Sydney' last='Black'] needs no introduction as everyone who is anyone knows how special she is in the back row if they have been around the scene for the last few years.&nbsp; That is her back row and she has the skills to prove exactly why she has the different colored jersey on.&nbsp; Super sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='438670' first='Arayah' last='Watson'] has really stepped up her game this season on the defensive side of the ball as she leads the team in total blocks out of the middle.&nbsp; She patrols the net and sets the tone for the defense to set up around her.&nbsp; Her counterpart in the middle is Shayne Voskuhl and she has been solid on the defensive end also.&nbsp; So far they are 14-2 on the young season as they enter district play soon.&nbsp;
