Our new-and-improved class of 2027 rankings have been released, allowing us the liberty of doing positional breakdowns. Today's edition has us talking about pin attackers, those high-flying, high-volume players that make or break a volleyball team. Here are our top five.

[player_tooltip player_id='260995' first='Caroline' last='Ward'], 6-0 RS, Tri-West

Miss Ward is our #1 recruit in the class of '27 for so many reasons, starting with her natural athleticism. She's long, lean and fast, and can jump well past ten feet in her attack touch. A smart and natural attacker, the ball simply sounds different coming off of her hand. After a year of being on the best 16s club team in the state, this is a young lady that continues to improve, despite the fact that she could easily rest on her athleticism. I list her as a right side because of the amount of time she's spent on the right pin during club season at an open level, but realistically she could play either pin position at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='435863' first='Jenna' last='Dittmer'], 5-9 OH, Zionsville

Jenna is a primary-passing, six-rotation outside that can shoulder the serve receive load while also being responsible for carrying an offensive load for whatever team she plays for. She spent last season playing open-level ball for Circle's 15-1 squad, and prove that at the highest level of play in her age class, she's capable of doing both of the aforementioned skills well. Although not seeing as much playing time as an Eagle thus far this fall on varsity, having a stable of high-level outsides on her squad is her only limitation.

[player_tooltip player_id='327227' first='Hayden' last='Mandsager'], 6-1 OH, Cathedral

Big and physical, Hayden knows one speed---GO. Hitting a heavy ball and capable of being a three-rotation offensive threat on either pin, I list her as an outside here because of her ability to be a workhorse and put a ton of balls away without tiring. She's fearless, has the physicality to overwhelm blockers, and puts a pace on the ball not normally seen from this graduating class in Indiana.

[player_tooltip player_id='448138' first='Luca' last='Bombacino'], 6-0 OH, Chesterton

Already with the best name in this class, Luca can clearly bomb away on all opponents in northern Indiana, and has done just that thus far this fall. She's already in the top three in multiple offensive and defensive categories for her squad on the young season thus far, but is best known for her attacking prowess. Attacking high and hard at a ten foot level, Luca's whip of an arm is relentless, has a heavy pace, and is terminal regularly. A lesser known name because she plays club at Michio, this is a kid you need to see play live to understand what she's capable of.

[player_tooltip player_id='443863' first='Audrey' last='Davis'], 5-11 RS, Westfield

A hammering lefty from Westfield, Audrey is a heavy-hitting, full-go right side that can hit any angle with pace and will take advantage of smaller blockers regularly with either tooling swings or a terminal crush. She really showed out at our Stock Up Showcase a few weeks ago, and was a primary attacker for her team once six-on-six play began. Defensively, she's a tough one to go against, as her long arms and instinctual play made it tough for opposing outsides to put balls away. No nonsense and strong, Audrey is physical and tough.
