–

It may only be the second year of Prep Dig putting on the preseason Stock Up Showcase, but this was one for the books!

With over 100 athletes at the UWM Sport Complex on Sunday, the talent was insane! We had players from down the road, to across the state and even some from across the boarder! No matter where their origin, it curated an insanely fun afternoon of volleyball.

With my side of the coverage, I am going to be taking a look at some of the best of the best that the showcase had to offer. Breaking it down, position by position, we're going to start the Stock Up coverage by looking at the setters!

There were plenty of setters on tap for the Stock Up, but there were a few here that really set a new standard in the gym. Take a look at some of the top setters at the Michigan Stock Up!

5'8 OH/L - Salem/Michigan Elite

You will never not be entertained when this player is on the court! [player_tooltip player_id='535359' first='Delaney' last='Fillman'] is so fun to watch! Bringing the talent, Fillman brings ALL the energy too! One of the most hyped-up players you'll find in the gym, Fillman's vibe is infectious! With her good energy, brings great control of the back court. She can play a variety of roles extremely well with her bread and butter being on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='490029' first='Amina' last='Baszile']

5'7 L/OH - Renaissance/Michigan Elite

[player_tooltip player_id='490029' first='Amina' last='Baszile'] is another player that can jump into any position and excel. I got to catch a lot of her in action throughout the spring as a six rotation attacker. Baszile was good for some good swings every now and then on Sunday, but what really caught your eye was her first contact. Both defensively and in receive, Baszile brings a lot of athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id='514728' first='Brooke' last='Price']

5'6 L - Hudsonville/MVA

This was a first for me getting to catch [player_tooltip player_id='514728' first='Brooke' last='Price'] in action. A strong defender out of the west side of the state, it's to no wonder seeing she comes from the deep bench of defenders from Hudsonville. Price seemed to have picked up quite a few attributes from the recent liberos that had gone through the program. She made a great impression at the Stock Up and is sure fit for a big fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='586762' first='Alexis' last='Warrington']

5'7 L - John Glenn/Dynamite

Another newbie on my radar. This time around, [player_tooltip player_id='586762' first='Alexis' last='Warrington'] is more relative to home-base, a product out of John Glenn/Dynamite. Warrington plays a real solid overall back court game. She has a bit of length to her which definitely aids in her ability to pick up some tough balls and make plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='575013' first='Elsie' last='Hultberg']

5'1 L - Valley Lutheran/Five:1

If there's anything to know about the Valley Lutheran program, its that they're always a good for a solid libero. [player_tooltip player_id='575013' first='Elsie' last='Hultberg'] has all of the makings to be the next big defensive product out of this program. Small, but mighty, Hultberg has zero issues getting gritty when it comes to her defense. She's quick in her movements and very efficient which allows her to cover much ground.

[player_tooltip player_id='467951' first='Rylee' last='Paddock']

5'10 L/OH - Jenison/FaR Out

[player_tooltip player_id='467951' first='Rylee' last='Paddock'] is coming off of a real nice freshman season with Jenison and FaR Out. Splitting time between the libero and outside hitter position throughout the year, this has only helped Paddock hone in her first contact. And from how she looked at this year's Stock Up, Paddock is poised for a huge fall with Jenison! She's got the strength to cover so much ground while maintaining discipline, she is constantly bettering the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='586766' first='Catie' last='Kuchta']

5'7 L - Mercy/High Performance

Seeing this player in action on Sunday, there's no question that Mercy has an embarrassment of riches at all positions it seems. [player_tooltip player_id='586766' first='Catie' last='Kuchta'] has all the makings to be the next impact DS or libero for the reigning champs. Kuchta sees the opposing offense extremely well and makes great reads on the play. She's aggressive in her pursuit of the ball which is always a plus.

[player_tooltip player_id='442993' first='Madison' last='Monroe']

5'8 L - Marian/L2

This is another player that is just so fun to watch. Not only does [player_tooltip player_id='442993' first='Madison' last='Monroe'] bring a lot of control to the court when it comes to her first contact, but she brings so much great energy as well! She's a constant when it comes to communication and movement which really elevates her game.
