It may only be the second year of Prep Dig putting on the preseason Freshman Showcase, but this was one for the books!

With nearly 40 incoming rookies at the UWM Sport Complex on Sunday, the incoming talent proved to be super exciting! With an entire class of Michigan kids on tap, this showcase provided the perfect stage for us to get a peak of what's coming down the pipe for the next four years.

On my side of the coverage, I am going to be taking a look at some of the best of the best that the showcase had to offer. Breaking it down, position by position, let's take a look next at the setters! In the Freshman Showcase, there were only three setters on tap for the day. So, recognizing their efforts and their skills were no problem. All three were big time performers as well.

5'8 S - Detroit Country Day/Legacy

[player_tooltip player_id='574175' first='Payton' last='Woodruff'] was coming into the showcase, and her rookie season for that matter, with a lot of buzz. Running the offense for Legacy 14-1 Adidas this past spring, Woodruff is known for running a very well-performing offense. Seeing her in action at the Freshman showcase, she did not disappoint. While a tad undersized at 5'8, Woodruff is so skilled at her position that it takes away any concern for her height. She's quick around the court, she runs a smooth ball around the court and does a great job spreading the ball around.

[player_tooltip player_id='579822' first='Addison' last='Dresch']

5'7 S - Dexter/Legacy

Rounding out the trio of setters on tap, [player_tooltip player_id='579822' first='Addison' last='Dresch'] is surely a name that garnered some attention. Like her counterparts, Dresch just maneuvers the game so well. Whether it is with her movement around the court or the movement of the ball, Dresch is a very comfortable, and very competent setter for this age. Entering into her freshman year at Dexter, I imagine Dresch to be the player that program needs to really hightail the dreadnaughts back into dominance.

5'1 S - Traverse City West/Northshore

This was a player that was not on my radar. But, like the beauty of these showcases, she's definitely on it now! [player_tooltip player_id='587010' first='Kendall' last='Sierzputowski'], all the way from Traverse City, showed up to UWM to put on a clinic. Talking undersized, Sierzputowski is only 5'1! Despite her size, this setter has such a knack for the flow of an offense and adapting to a variety of hitters. Sierzputowski seemed to be the most comfortable running the middle which was quite the sight to see.
