The 2024 prep season starts tomorrow and one of the tournaments taking place is a tournament in McPherson featuring six teams from the Ark Valley Chisolm Trail League.

Here is a look at one ranked prospect on each of the six teams playing in Mac.

Good luck to all athletes and coaches as the season gets underway.

[player_tooltip player_id='493447' first='Taya' last='Orth'], 5'4”, S, Andale, ‘25

Orth is a solid setter currently ranked No. 102 overall by Prep Dig Kansas. She finished with 425 assists as a junior and will be a key to an Indians' successful offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='480405' first='Brooke' last='Parham'], 5'9”, OH, Andover, ‘27

Parham is a dangerous young hitter for Andover. She is currently ranked No. 16 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She had 81 kills and 38 blocks during her freshman season. The competition in this tournament will give her a chance to show off her skills.

[player_tooltip player_id='493402' first='Lily' last='Waters'], 5'10”, OH, Derby, ‘25

Derby's Waters is currently ranked No. 105 in the Kansas Class of 2026. She is a six-rotation athlete who can be an asset on the front or back rows. She has 515 career kills and 387 career digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='493574' first='Zoe' last='Wisdom'], 5'11”, S, Maize, ‘25

Wisdom and her two younger sisters will get their season started in McPherson. Wisdom has verbally committed to play for Oklahoma Christian after high school. She can set, hit, and plays good defense for her size. She will look to win a state title with her sisters Ellie and Addi.

[player_tooltip player_id='489345' first='Brooke' last='Doile'], 5'9”, MB, McPherson, ‘26

The host Bullpups have a roster loaded with multi-sport athletes. I saw them play this summer and they are quick and feisty. Doile is ranked No. 47 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. After two seasons of varsity action, she has accumulated 378 kills and 531 digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='493414' first='Ani' last='Koontz'], 5'11”, MB, Newton, ‘26

The Newton Railroaders are a young team I saw play early last season at Jamboree at Bishop Carroll. Koontz is one of the more dangerous hitters on the squad. She is currently ranked No. 136 overall. She finished her junior season with 183 kills and 47 total blocks. Look for her to make at run at doubling up those numbers from last fall.
