2024 DFC – Sophomore Stars from the Challenger Qualifiers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The competitive nature of the 2024 Durango Fall Classic brought out the best in a lot of players in the tournament. With over 64 teams participating, after pool play teams were divided into four qualifying rounds. She delivered some amazing sets that allowed her hitters to capitalize and make winning plays. Not only did she set well, she also played on the opposite side as a hitter, putting the ball down several times. She complemented this with a few blocks and great serves. She has a great swing that racked up many kills throughout the tournament for her team. She does an excellent job of tooling the block and hitting deep corner shots. She has a great serve and is a major contributor defensively on serve receive and defense. When she rotates to the front row, she powers through and beats blocks with her strong swing. She is currently the #14 ranked player in Nevada for total kills this season. When she gets on top of the ball, you better have a strong block, because she will power through for the kill. Her high vertical combined with her arm swing is a combination that's going to take her very far in the sport. She makes a difference in both the front and back rows with her defensive digs and passes, as well as her attacking. She has a great jump serve that gives opponents a difficult time receiving. What I also noticed is that she was consistently encouraging her teammates and is a major contributor the team can count on. She is a key player on Faith's team who brings high energy throughout the entire game. She is impressive in all six rotations, serving up aces, delivering precise passes in the back row, and executing hard attacks cross court from the opposite side. Although she did not start, she continuously cheered for her teammates from the bench. When she entered the game, she played exceptionally well from beginning to end. She earned some impressive kills, made great passes, and delivered solid serves that boosted the momentum of the game. She can run several different attacks from the middle and effectively hits around or tools off the outside hands of blockers. She also recorded several solo and assisted blocks throughout the tournament.
