By The Numbers: Six Top Uncommitted Attackers

We've spent a great amount of time talking about the top teams in each class for the last few weeks, but spent very little time on individuals that are carrying their respective teams. We also pride ourselves on giving credence to those who have yet to find a collegiate home once their high school career has completed. Here are three seniors and three juniors who, according to statistics, are the top attackers in each class who have yet to find a home for after graduation.    Springy and explosive, Lindsey has amassed over 1200 kills in her high school career at Kouts, with a legitimate possibility of passing 1500 career kills by season's end. She's a six-rotation player and, by the looks of things, might not have received the attention she deserves because of her size. No matter, as her consistent and repeatable armswing has earned her success after success in her high school career. Currently, Miss Krueger is fifth among seniors in the state of Indiana in number of kills.     Although because of her strength and athleticism she sees a lot of time in the middle, Audra is a collegiate pin attacker at a small school if there ever was one. Physical and strong, Miss Flanary is closing in on 1000 career kills, and can score points from anywhere along the front row. Sitting at sixth statewide among seniors in kills, Audra might need a bit of help from her fellow attackers in order for Eastern to advance far into October.     As one of the primary attackers at Scecina for what seems like forever, Molly is a multisport stud of an athlete that continues to lead her squad in whatever way she can. By looks, she seems undersized, but certainly does NOT play as such. Her postseason accolades are numerous in high school, and has a squad around her that should make a deep run into the playoffs. The Crusaders are currently 18-5, and most of those are because of Molly's 5+ kills per set.     Our first junior listed today, Grace is a broad-shouldered and physical middle that can easily slide one spot to the right and attack behind the setter. The ball she hits is heavy, and can easily be shanked into the crowd because of the pace she puts on it. If she stays in the middle, this is a small-school M2, but because of her training at Empowered, she can also attack as a three-rotation pin at the next level.     I was today years old when I heard that there was a school named Calumet Christian School, let alone that they recently had a 50-match win streak snapped. Hannah is a major part of that success, and has been since her eighth grade year. Technically not yet part of the IHSAA, the Patriots have knocked off quite a few 1A and 2A schools from the region. Already north of 1200 kills in her career, 1500 doesn't seem that far off during this, Hannah's JUNIOR season.     Physical and strong, Della is a Boiler Juniors product that can do a little of everything on the volleyball court. Fully capable of being a six-rotation passer at the next level, She attacks high and hard, has all of the shots in the skill set from both pins, and can read and react well on defense to turn it into transitional offense. Knowing her well-rounded skill set AND her training background, it's only a matter of time and being in front of the right eyeballs before she earns that commitment.
