The Great Bend Panthers are getting their season started a couple of days later than several other Sunflower State schools.

In preparation for their first two matches of the season against Liberal and Garden City on September 5, the Panthers took their final warmup in an energetic practice scouted by Prep Dig.

Here is an update on four ranked players on a deep squad rich with young talent. Look for several Great Bend prospects to be featured in the coming days and added to the Prep Dig Kansas rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='519098' first='Kara' last='Feist'], 6'0”, MB, Great Bend, ‘25

Feist is ranked No. 19 overall in the class of 2025. She is a tall and physical hitter who has verbally committed to play for Fort Hays State University after graduation. She hits the ball with authority and has strong leadership skills. She will look to improve on her 216 kill totals from a season ago. Feist is an accurate attacker who takes full advantage of her scoring chances. The lefty senior also plays a mean game of UNO.

[player_tooltip player_id='519096' first='Cassie' last='Ellegood'], 6'0”, MB, Great Bend, ‘25

Ellegood is ranked No. 59 overall in the class of 2025. She moves a little quicker than Feist, but does not have as physical a frame as her Panther teammate. Ellegood finished with 67 total blocks and 230 kills during her senior campaign. She elevates well and plays with solid energy. She has multiple offers from NAIA and JUCO programs, but look for her offers to only increase as the season gets underway,

[player_tooltip player_id='434374' first='Kya' last='Behr'], 5'10”, S, Great Bend, ‘27 (Pictured Above)

Behr is Prep Dig Kansas' No. 1 overall-ranked player in the class of 2027. She practices like she plays, which is at full tilt. She is one of the best hitting setters, I have seen since Kansas Jayhawk Cam Turner played at Seaman. She knows the weapons she has on her squad and where they like the ball at. She is a natural leader who is very supportive of her younger teammates and serves as an extra coach on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='523953' first='Micah' last='Ellegood'], 5'11”, MB, Great Bend, ‘28

Ellegood is ranked No. 59 overall in the class of 2028. She is wiry and would benefit from adding some upper-body strength. She has a quality serve, is extremely coachable, and soaks up lessons from the Panther upperclassmen. I saw her play club ball last season and I would say her game has evolved even from the spring. She is one of two freshmen who could rack up quality playing time and impressive numbers at the varsity level this season.
