2024 Beast of the East Setter Standouts

Anderson has been running the offense smoothly and getting big kill totals out of four different players. She's got great instincts and leadership skills.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='156293' first='Ella' last='Craggs'], Sr. Northville</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A Miss Volleyball finalist, Craggs runs the Northville offense, which is a very balanced attack. She gets great swings out of her outsides and middles, and has a real knack for knowing where the ball needs to go. She's committed to Illinois State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226885' first='Allie' last='Davison'], Jr. Marian</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Davison has made some big strides in her game over the last year. She's added new dimensions to her play as well, as she can put a nice swing on the ball and is excelling defensively. Davison looks very confident on the floor right now.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226887' first='Izzie' last='Delacher'], Jr. Rockford</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Delacher has helped develop two young hitters throughout the past couple of years and has the Rockford offense looking like one of the best in the state. She's technically sound and seems a step ahead of her opponents.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='487153' first='Jessica' last='Maier'], Sr. Caledonia</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Caledonia has a lot of talented offensive options and this weekend will be a chance for the program to show it can play with the best. Maier is getting the most out of her hitters this year, which is leading to a high assist total. Maier could be one of the most underrated setters in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='261174' first='Kaylin' last='Schroeder'], Sr. Bedford</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bedford has one of the top offenses in the state and Schroeder is a big reason why. She is a great leader that directs the traffic well. She's developed a lot of chemistry with her teammates and knows where to put the ball in order to finish points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='442995' first='Marlie' last='Smith'], So. Clarkston</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Smith plays like a senior despite being a sophomore. She's a very vocal leader that plays with intensity and can make a game-changing play in multiple ways. Smith runs a fast offense with a smooth touch, but she also has a keen sense for when to dump the ball. She's also a big threat from the service line.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226936' first='Lexie' last='Stotenbur'], Jr. FH Northern</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Despite losing two major hitters, the Huskies are still one of the top offenses in D1 thanks to the leadership of Stotenbur. She's raised the game of a number of new starting hitters and looks very poised in leading the offense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='454358' first='Lily' last='Tripi'], So. Eisenhower</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tripi is a major threat as a setter, able to push a fast tempo while also using her size to be a force at the net herself. She's got Eisenhower as one of the most efficient offenses in the state and using a wide variety of hitters.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='442978' first='Eleanor' last='Williams'], So. Romeo</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Williams is a shining star at the position. She is working with some potent hitters, but has raised her game to allow Romeo to play at a good speed. Williams also has the ability to be a finisher at the net, so her dynamic skillset is something to watch out for.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
