As we get to the smaller schools, we find a ton of multi sport talent to go along with some exceptional athleticism. Some of the kids mentioned in this article don't even use volleyball as the primary sport---and will still find themselves in the conversation for all regional and all state consideration. Here are the eight teams in the southern half of the 2A bracket, with times, locations, records and one impact player each that should be the primary focus for a victory tomorrow.

Winchester (23-9) v Parke Heritage (21-7) @ Monrovia, 4p

This match will be a story of young talent versus experienced volleyball. The Golden Falcons have a major primary factor on their squad in the form of sophomore outside [player_tooltip player_id='710310' first='Auden' last='Hummel']. Her 6-2 frame, whip of an arm and Munciana training will all be key if they want to move on to the semi state. The Wolves have other ideas, however, as an older and more experienced squad got them this far. Look for Emma Simpson, a spitfire of a pin attacker, to shoulder the majority of the offensive load.

#4 Barr-Reeve (28-6) v Eastern (24-4) @ Mitchell, 1p

The Vikings have been here and done that time and time again. B-R doesn't rebuild, they reload, and part of that reload starts with [player_tooltip player_id='226808' first='Addison' last='Jones'], whose 3kps/3dps stat line is as consistent as she plays. She's got a more-than-adequate supporting cast around her, as Barr-Reeve's M.O. has been balance and ball control over the years. The Musketeers have had their chances to really explode on the scene, with this being their best squad, top to bottom, in recent memory. The clear offensive juggernaut on this roster is Avery Smith, who brings nearly five kills per set and .300+ hitting to the fray.

Covenant Christian (15-18) v Scecina (26-7) @ Monrovia, 7p

The nightcap at Monrovia features familiar foes---these two are in the same CONFERENCE, with the Crusaders pulling out a four-set victory on September 26. Scecina's [player_tooltip player_id='434168' first='Molly' last='Welborn'] (Hanover commit) is an all-around stud of a player that is the picture of six-rotation player. Her primary passing couples nicely with her primary go-to mindset. Five kills per set, four digs per set, all while hitting over .300 is a lot to ask of any player, yet Molly is more than capable. For the Warriors, size and the ability to slow down Miss Welborn will be key. Look no further than big middle Raven Russell. Her 6-2 frame and length for days will be needed on every attack that she's in the front row. Even if she doesn't get a lot of blocks in this match, her ability to make attackers think twice about hitting low to the tape might goad Scecina into a few errors, and enough to make this match tough.

#1 Brownstown Central (30-3) v #6 Tecumseh (27-7) @ Jennings County, 1p

The battle of the Braves will take place in the southernmost regional site in the state on Saturday. BC has been the ONLY #1 all season for 2A, and for good reason---they far and away have the toughest schedule in 2A, and are primed for a state title run yet again. You can't get there without a great first contact, which libero [player_tooltip player_id='238122' first='Jaydynn' last='Yeadon'] will provide, to go along with her five digs per set. Katelyn Marx and her senior-heavy squad of Braves will need to be relentless on offense if they want to avenge their September 21 loss and upset #1.
