A two-plus hour drive to watch a couple of volleyball matches on a day when there were tournaments all over the state, is even a little absurd for me.

However, I promised a high school team I would see them play one more time in the regular season and there were two schools I had not seen that I wanted to scout badly.

So I made it to Concordia and back safe and sound after watching two impressive displays by state-contending powers.

Here is the third report from the two matches I scouted at the Concordia Invitational on October 5.

I scouted two matches in Pool B play at Concordia's Elementary School gym.

Here is a look at four prospects from Southeast Saline.

[player_tooltip player_id='493508' first='Christina' last='Wingo'], 5'8”, MB, Southeast Saline, ‘25

The biggest surprise of the morning was the play of Trojan senior Wingo. She was a stat monster in the two losses. In the first match against Clay Center, she collected eight kills, seven digs, and 13 serve receptions. During the second pool play match against Beloit, she tallied 11 kills, eight digs, and eight serve receptions. Wingo is the poster child for why it is so important to get your name out there with as much information as possible. She has been on the “Prep Dig Bench” because I did not have a height for her. I double-checked before writing this and she did not have a height on HUDL or Max Preps. She has had conversations with NAIA programs. She would be a great last-minute add for schools still looking for hitters in the class of 2025. She has a smooth approach and plays with high energy. She should expect to debut in the Prep Dig rankings next week!

[player_tooltip player_id='173399' first='Macy' last='Bunch'], 5'10”, OH, Southeast Saline, ‘25

Bunch is currently ranked No. 114 overall in the Kansas Class of 2025. She is long and can impact a match at the net. She combined to have seven kills in the two matches. She is used as a front-row-only player and that is probably the role she would fill in college. I would recommend her to NAIA coaches still looking for some hitting depth.

Carlee Dye, 5'7”, DS/L, Southeast Saline, ‘26

An unranked junior I was impressed by wasSouhteast's libero. She has a quiet platform and plays with grit. She was getting peppered all morning long by Clay Center and Beloit's elite hitters. She stood her ground and went after ball after ball. I only took stats for her during the second match as I wrote a number down wrong in this first match. She finished with 13 serve receptions and three digs against Beloit. She had more of an impact defensively in the opening match against Clay Center.

[player_tooltip player_id='535009' first='Reese' last='Heinrich'] , 5'2”, DS/L, Southeast Saline, ‘28

The best performance by an unknown freshman came from Heinrich. I enjoyed watching her play and Southeast was a better defensive team with her in the lineup. She did not spend time on the front row and will probably be the future libero for the Trojans. She collected five digs and 10 serve receptions in limited, but eye-catching action. She can expect to be added to the Kansas Class of 2027 rankings in November.
