<p>The high school volleyball playoffs continue to progress in the state of Texas and, with the State Tournament less than two weeks away, day after day, the list of candidates to make the trip to Garland gets slimmer.</p>

<p>This Tuesday, November 12, will be packed with action in the Lone Star State, with many matches of the Regional Semifinals being held - the winners will be just one victory away from earning the right to fight for the state title.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Byron Nelson vs. Plano West - 6:00 PM - @ Curtis Culwell Center</h2>

<p>In the Dallas area, the Byron Nelson Bobcats and the Plano West Wolves meet in Division 2. Byron Nelson have been arguably the best team in the state up to this point, with an incredible campaign of 36 wins and just one loss. Undefeated in their last 32 matches, the Bobcats won District 4 and eliminated Weatherford and Frenship in the playoffs. Some of their standouts include junior outside hitters [player_tooltip player_id='320954' first='Kylie' last='Kleckner'] (515 kills, 271 digs, 486 passes) and [player_tooltip player_id='253981' first='Ashlyn' last='Seay'] (423 kills, 275 digs, 448 passes) and sophomore setter [player_tooltip player_id='534307' first='Sophee' last='Peterson'] (1,303 assists, 180 kills, 65 blocks).</p>

<p>Plano West have a 27-7 win record for the season and triumphed in their last four encounters. The Wolves advanced to the playoffs as the top team in District 6 and got wins over Flower Mound and Arlington in the postseason. Leading them on the court are junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='452248' first='Reese' last='Poerner'] (507 kills, 148 digs, 333 passes), senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='227874' first='Sophia' last='Wei'] (701 assists, 237 digs) and senior middle Aajaylah Zeno (325 kills, 103 blocks, 36 aces).</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Alexander vs. Harlan - 6:30 PM - @ Dilley HS</h2>

<p>In Southwestern Texas, the duel between Laredo's Alexander Bulldogs and San Antonio's Harlan Hawks in Division 2 stands out. Alexander got here with 32 wins and seven losses and haven't lost in 15 matches. They dominated District 30 and got the better of Clemens and Edinburg in the playoffs. Senior middle/outside hitters [player_tooltip player_id='507752' first='Andrea' last='Nunez'] (297 kills, 88 blocks) and [player_tooltip player_id='482108' first='Stella' last='Evans'] (278 kills, 73 digs, 130 passes) and senior setter Emily Lauren Buitron (566 assists, 237 digs, 21 aces) will play a big role for them in the match.</p>

<p>Harlan have a campaign of 38 wins and five losses and are currently on a 16-match winning streak. The second-best team in District 28, they defeated Brandeis and Dripping Springs in the playoffs. Some of their top players are junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='318144' first='Jaci' last='Hall'] (380 kills, 305 digs, 459 passes), senior outside hitter Thaila Yancey (326 kills, 262 digs, 555 passes) and senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='212741' first='Isabella' last='De La Rosa'] (637 assists, 248 digs, 55 aces).</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Wylie vs. Grand Oaks - 7:30 PM - @ Leon HS</h2>

<p>In the Houston area, the Wylie Pirates will try to end the run of the Grand Oaks Grizzlies for back-to-back state titles in Division 1. Wylie won 34 and lost eight matches this season. After finishing first in District 9, they topped Rockwall-Heath and Waxahachie in the postseason. Keep an eye out for senior outside hitter Karson Barclow (381 kills, 282 digs, 549 passes), senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='356124' first='Taylor' last='Johnson'] (791 assists, 142 kills, 276 digs) and senior libero Sadie Jane Warren (441 digs, 380 passes, 51 aces).</p>

<p>Grand Oaks' title defense campaign has 38 victories and seven defeats. They were the winners of District 13 and overcame Nimitz and Bridgeland in the postseason. Senior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='180175' first='Samara' last='Coleman'] (505 kills, 241 digs, 487 passes), junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='318128' first='Halle' last='Thompson'] (440 kills, 247 digs, 455 passes) and junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='452249' first='Samantha' last='Sampson'] (1,018 assists, 204 digs, 32 aces) are part of the core of the team.</p>
