The Class of 2027 was heavily represented at the Michigan Top 250 Expo this past Sunday in Pontiac.

About half of the total participants came from this class.

Here's a look at the third part of our 2027 prospect evaluations.

[player_tooltip player_id='586776' first='Lyla' last='Gorny'], MH Troy/High Performance

The 6'1” Gorny has the potential to be a dominant player in the middle. It's clear that she has the athleticism and awareness to make a lot of plays at the net, offensively and defensively. At times she looked a little tentative, but when she turned another gear, she was very impactful. If she finds that gear consistently, Gorny should be in for a big year.

[player_tooltip player_id='486863' first='Lindsey' last='Schwegman'], S OLSM/High Performance

A 5'10” setter, Schwegman has the ability to meet her hitters at a high point along the net. She also displays a lot of good footwork and quickness to make challenging sets and push a fast pace. Defensively, Schwegman is quick to react and recognize where the ball is going.

Skylar Hogan, OH Dakota/Unified

Hogan does a nice job of adjusting to each player she works with and making choices to keep the play going. She's got the ability to finish from either pin, but needs to trust in herself a little more and not be afraid to dial up the aggression. She's got the ability to put the ball away with authority.

[player_tooltip player_id='523870' first='Delaynee' last='Witbeck'], OH Frankenmuth/Five:1

Witbeck showed a lot of good court awareness during the Expo. She has the athleticism to wait on the ball in the air, which allows her to make late adjustments and beat the defense with smart plays. She's got solid arm speed when she takes a big swing and she's able to work well off blockers.

Katelyn Kim, DS/L Cranbrook/Team Detroit

Kim was a player that showed a lot of poise and composure during the Expo. She stayed laser-focused during each drill and kept her head on a swivel during scrimmage play. Her focus kept her in a lot of plays and allowed her to anticipate well against big swings.

[player_tooltip player_id='523871' first='Tessa' last='White'], OH Franklin/Michigan Elite

White has great explosiveness off the floor, as she can hang in the air for what seems like minutes. That allows her to really uncork on the ball and create some highlight-reel swings. That athleticism also bodes well for her defensive play, as she's got the quickness to get to a lot of balls.

Aveline Majeski, RS Cranbrook/Team Detroit

Majeski is a solid left-handed swinger that does a nice job of mixing up her attack angles. She was able to play tight along the right side boundary and then mix things up and go across the court. Her swing was steady with its speed and power, but still has the potential to find a next gear.

[player_tooltip player_id='586779' first='Nyla' last='Fahy'], OH Holly/Legacy

Fahy showed some promise as a defender and a hitter, but needs to trust in her instincts a little more. Sometimes she appeared to be thinking more than reacting. But, when she was in her comfort zone, she showed she can make some really tough digs with a good first step toward the ball. Her swings can produce power as she gets more comfortable with a fast tempo.

[player_tooltip player_id='443001' first='Zoe' last='Ryan'], S Divine Child/Michigan Elite

Ryan has a great skillset as a setter and she plays very in control on the court. Movements and decisions seem to come instinctively to her, which allows her to get a lot of good swings out of her hitters. It was clear also that players flock to Ryan. She's got a natural leadership quality and hitters appreciate her input.

[player_tooltip player_id='470031' first='Avery' last='Kapeller'], OH OLSM/High Performance

Kapeller continues to improve on her stock. She's had a big year and keeps showing more savvy on the court. The 6'1” outside has length and athleticism at the net that already set her apart from most, but her improving defense is turning her into a truly top-level player.

[player_tooltip player_id='582308' first='Kendall' last='Michels'], S Laingsburg/Legacy

Michels did a really nice job of adapting to each hitter and each drill. She didn't many reps to get her timing down with the various hitters. She also shows good instincts with her reactions when battling at the net or playing defense. Michels lets things come to her and goes with the flow.
