What I enjoy about the Top 250 Expo is seeing all the new names from across the state in one place competing and playing together. This is a great way to see a quick preview of what is to come from the club season. I also start to see groupings of players who will be playing with an against each other, as well as athletes who probably went head to head all high school season. There was quite a presence from the Madison area who made an impact at the Top 250. Get to know some of these athletes.

[player_tooltip player_id='487030' first='Sadie' last='Newcomb'] - Middleton

I remember Newcomb from some Prep Dig Events this past year playing for Sting United where she is someone that makes positive things happen on her side of the net. The same can be said about her performance at the Top 250 on Saturday. Newcomb was able to show her ability to score points on the pin. Developing connections with setters can be tough in a showcase setting, but Newcomb continued to impress. She is building off a big high school season where she had over 300 kills on the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='487010' first='Finley' last='Moore'] - Mount Horeb

A lot of length and power is what [player_tooltip player_id='487010' first='Finley' last='Moore'] brings to the court. She has quite a wingspan that causes issues for the other side of the net. Her presence with her block will cause attackers to think twice and she was always an offensive threat. She wasn't the only one from Mount Horeb in the house as setter [player_tooltip player_id='376267' first='Laila' last='Rasmussen'] was dishing. I can imagine how these two make quite a combination as they will be ones to watch as they team up this club season for 608 Juniors.

[player_tooltip player_id='237019' first='Cassidy' last='Pohlman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='376266' first='Sedona' last='Paprocki'] - Mount Horeb

[player_tooltip player_id='237019' first='Cassidy' last='Pohlman'] just glides on the court as a libero where she time and time again is able to anticipate well and take pace off the ball or pick up the tip. She is solid in serve receive with an efficient platform. Her high school teammate was rock solid as well in [player_tooltip player_id='376266' first='Sedona' last='Paprocki'] who was quite the all around player where she was electric from the outside. She has a no fear style of play where she isn't afraid to swing big and aggressive.

[player_tooltip player_id='502034' first='Lily' last='Smith'] - Madison West

What a versatile attacker. [player_tooltip player_id='502034' first='Lily' last='Smith'] provides a lot of length at the net where she was able to show her ability to score points and be a defensive presence. She has previously played for [program_tooltip program_id='428672' first='Milwaukee' last='Sting'] 16 Black and was the top scorer for Madison West this high school season! She is a player to keep tabs on as she heads into her 17s season where she could be a next level steal.

[player_tooltip player_id='376277' first='Charlotte' last='Isenbarger'] and [player_tooltip player_id='504415' first='Elle' last='Siniscalchi'] - Edgewood

These two may play opposite positions, but they were quite a duo on Saturday at the Top 250. [player_tooltip player_id='376277' first='Charlotte' last='Isenbarger'] brings length to the net and occupies the middle with athleticism and physicality. Siniscalchi is scrappy, she finds a way to get an extra touch as a libero. They were a big reason behind the success of Edgewood High School this past fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='510459' first='Julia' last='Grogan'], [player_tooltip player_id='435879' first='Amy' last='Denkert'], and Bella Donner - Waunakee

The future is looking bright for Waunakee as Julia Grogran, [player_tooltip player_id='435879' first='Amy' last='Denkert'], and [player_tooltip player_id='555768' first='Bella' last='Donner'] were in attendance on Saturday at the Top 250. Grogran explodes off the ground as an outside hitter where she has a no fear style to swing big. She will be the type who can always be an outlet out of system or from the backrow. Denkert is so savvy. I really like her style as a setter where she has such a positive court presence, playing with a really high IQ. She knows when to set, when to attack, and who is going to be someone to find the right attacker at the right time. Donner will be one to watch out of the middle who can block and score points. She is able to get out of her block, transition, and make herself available to attack. This will be a fun Madtown Junior squad to look for heading into the 2025 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='510462' first='Olivia' last='Quinton'] - Sun Prairie West

[player_tooltip player_id='510462' first='Olivia' last='Quinton'] definitely stood out with how she was able to attack with authority at the Top 250. She was part of an upstart Sun Prairie West program where they made quite an impact in the Madison area. She is an attacker who knows how to score points where she can score out of the middle or on the pins, making her extremely versatile. She will be one to watch on the 16s courts this club season.

[player_tooltip player_id='565655' first='Makennah' last='Peterson'] - Baraboo

[player_tooltip player_id='565655' first='Makennah' last='Peterson'] was a new name for me heading into the Top 250. She is 6'2 with plenty of athleticism and physicality at the net as a middle blocker. She definitely stood out among this group where she will be one who will make opposing attackers think twice when they swing. Her ability to find the deep corner from multiple tempos will be exciting to follow as well where she has a lot of upside to her game.
