At the Northern Lights Qualifier this past January I saw North Dakota State on the court of Madtown 171 National.  Makennah Peterson Makennah Peterson 6'3" | MB/OH Baraboo | 2027 State WI was having quite a match with a big block and showing she could score in multiple ways. I even remember thinking she would make a good for NDSU. Fast forward to May and she is heading to Fargo.  NDSU has been able to pull some big talent from Wisconsin that would include Sting alum Alexis Boling.  Peterson will look to have a strong finish for Madtown and Baraboo High School. 

Seeing Madtown 171 National at the Northern Lights Qualifier was impressive.  They went toe to toe with some top teams in the country in the 17 Open Division.  An athlete who really stepped up was Makennah Peterson Makennah Peterson 6'3" | MB/OH Baraboo | 2027 State WI .  She was able to stuff some high level outside hitters as well as finding a way to score points.  She brings physicality and strength to the net where she would be a great pick up at the middle or I could even see her on the right side at the college level.  She is one to quickly put a star next to in University Athlete to see real soon. 

This isn’t exactly a new name on the radar, but a big performance worth noting.  Makennah Peterson is a 6’3 middle blocker who plays for Madtown National 171 Elite out of Madison, Wisconsin.  Offensively, she hits a real heavy ball, but her blocking was next level this past weekend.  In their opening pool play match against Arizona Storm she was causing problems for the Storm attackers who are some of the best in the country.  Her presence made attackers think twice when it comes to a big swing.
