About Makennah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Aggressive. I hunt the block and swing hard and accurate when I am set.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Hungry but humble. Team first attitude. I try to think intelligently about the game of volleyball and implement that on the court. Caring, outgoing and I really try to enjoy the journey with my teammates.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Interact Club pre-National Honors Society Elementary School Reading Program Madtown 161 Volleyball Club Varsity Letterman x2 Volleyball Community Service

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I try to bring calmness to the court. I started on varsity as a freshman and adapted quickly to the pace of play by remaining clam under pressure. I love my teammates. I strive to be a leader on and off the court. It is so important to build relationships with your teammates and have fun! I love the community of Baraboo, WI. People really care about each other.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Thankfully, I have not had to face any over the top challenges in life yet. That doesn't mean I am free of challenge. I work hard every day managing schoolwork, athletics, being a good daughter and sister and overall just tackling challenges head on as they come.

What type of college are you looking for?

Preferably a school with a great pre-med program. I love the Badgers but a any Big Ten school would be an excellent choice both academically and athletically.

Seeing Madtown 171 National at the Northern Lights Qualifier was impressive.  They went toe to toe with some top teams in the country in the 17 Open Division.  An athlete who really stepped up was Makennah Peterson Makennah Peterson Makennah Peterson 6'3" | MB/OH Baraboo | 2027 State WI .  She was able to stuff some high level outside hitters as well as finding a way to score points.  She brings physicality and strength to the net where she would be a great pick up at the middle or I could even see her on the right side at the college level.  She is one to quickly put a star next to in University Athlete to see real soon.

This isn’t exactly a new name on the radar, but a big performance worth noting.  Makennah Peterson is a 6’3 middle blocker who plays for Madtown National 171 Elite out of Madison, Wisconsin.  Offensively, she hits a real heavy ball, but her blocking was next level this past weekend.  In their opening pool play match against Arizona Storm she was causing problems for the Storm attackers who are some of the best in the country.  Her presence made attackers think twice when it comes to a big swing.
