This last fall for these athletes were truly one for the books. This last year saw [player_tooltip player_id='288948' first='Lexi' last='Armstrong'] hone in on the ball control department and she's broken out as one of the top in the state. This past season with Hudsonville, she was sensational. A state leader in digs with 700+, Armstrong's strong presence put Hudsonville back into the forefront of elite conversation.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='223048' first='Avery' last='Nance'] - Traverse City St. Francis</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>72nd to 33rd</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If it weren't for this libero's play this fall, Traverse City St. Francis may not have seen the historic heights that they did. [player_tooltip player_id='223048' first='Avery' last='Nance'] has been a long time staple to this squad but really pushed herself to the front of the fold. Nance is a steady defender with a soft touch on reception that keeps her teams in such a rhythm. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fresh Faces</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='732246' first='Ella' last='Swoish'] - North Branch</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a tough task to come in after the monstrous career that was Hailey Green's. However, [player_tooltip player_id='732246' first='Ella' last='Swoish'] was more than up for the task and will go down as another Bronco great after her breakout season. It was Swoish and [player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'] against the world and they did some remarkable work leading North Branch to another deep post season run.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='732231' first='Ellie' last='Weertz'] - Plymouth Christian</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another player that has stepped into the libero role, taking over from a long time great in their program, [player_tooltip player_id='732231' first='Ellie' last='Weertz'] proved her own and then some. A nice energy on the court to go along with her defensive senses, Weertz had a huge 2023.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='732217' first='Savannah' last='Flint'] - Manchester</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While she may have been one of the leading attackers in the entire state this fall, [player_tooltip player_id='732217' first='Savannah' last='Flint']'s true calling is the DS/L position. But it is quite remarkable to see how versatile and athletic this player is. She's the complete package and can slot into just about anywhere on the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
