Miss Volleyball Candidates Heading Into 2025

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After a great list of Miss Volleyball finalists in the 2024 year, next year's class looks to be very competitive as well when sizing up the award.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There are a number of players that have established themselves as outstanding multi-year talents at the prep level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here's a look at some of the players that should be in the mix for the honor in 2025, led by top candidates.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226882' first='Karis' last='Chatfield'], OH Jenison</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jenison has had a nice resurgence in Division 1 the past few years and the development of Chatfield as an outside hitters is a big reason why. She's proven she can go toe-to-toe with anyone in the state and has established herself as one of the best in the Grand Rapids area. Next fall, Chatfield will be motivated to get Jenison to a new level of success in the postseason.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'], OH North Branch</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>North Branch has had a lot of great players in program history, including two Miss Volleyball winners. Deshetsky may be the best of the bunch. Already a major player in two state championship runs as a freshman and sophomore, Deshetsky proved her value even more this fall as a junior. She was one of the state leaders in kills and carried the Broncos to a state quarterfinal after graduating most of the starting lineup.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226889' first='Madeline' last='Dettling'], OH SMCC</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dettling has been part of the strong SMCC program and will be stepping into a major role as a senior, with a lot of talent graduating from the D3 state champs. Dettling has been part of All-State teams in each of her first three seasons with the Kestrels. Next year could see her playing her most productive ball of her prep career yet.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226886' first='Gabby' last='DiVita'], OH GP South</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>DiVita has been one of the most valuable players to her team compared to anyone else in the state. DiVita has been one of the top outsides in D1 for the last three years and she's also established herself as one of the top names in club volleyball for the class. You can't ignore her overall body of work when looking at Miss Volleyball nominees.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226900' first='Liv' last='Hosford'], OH Rockford</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hosford made a big impact for Rockford as a freshman and has only built on that from there. She helped lead the Rams to the D1 championship match this year and has been one of the few in this class to be named to a MIVCA All-State team in each of her first three years of prep volleyball. Hosford racks up the kills and digs and will have massive career numbers by the end of next year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226909' first='Kayla' last='Nwabueze'], MH Bloomfield Hills</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The middle hitter from Bloomfield Hills has established herself as one of the best in the entire nation, which certainly puts her at the forefront of the Miss Volleyball discussion. Nwabueze puts down the ball at an impressive finishing rate while also being a top defensive talent.
