The 2028 class's setting group has some fantastic players coming through the ranks. Lauren and Olivia are multifaceted players who not only set but are also a big part of their team's offense. Then we have some players who shared setting duties but would be the stars on any other team. Here are my picks for some of the top setters in the 2028 class in Missouri's largest classification.

[player_tooltip player_id='729480' first='Lauren' last='Dorey'] – 6'1" – Jackson

Lauren was included in my top 2028 pins for Class 5, and I've got to cover her again. Why? Lauren finished the season with 706 assists, which led all of the 2028 Class 5 athletes in assists. Lauren has all the tools to become a big-time recruit. She is tall, has excellent hands, and understands the game. I watched Lauren at the Rockwood Tournament and the playoffs, and each time, I walked away impressed.

[player_tooltip player_id='612171' first='Peyton' last='Creed'] – 5'7" – Nixa

Peyton came in second in assists for 2028 players with 583 while sharing the setting duties for Nixa. Peyton plays above her age and has a high volleyball IQ. She has excellent hands and a significant push to the pins. She knows who and when to set the ball, too, and I love that almost every set is a jump set.

[player_tooltip player_id='729549' first='Jaelyn' last='Jordan'] – 5'8" – Lee's Summit West

The Titans always succeed and reload each year with top-level volleyball players, and Jaelyn will be another great before she leaves the program. She led her team in assists with 514 while sharing duties with a senior. I see Jaelyn running the show next year with LSW. You can tell she's played a lot of ball already. She's a quick setter who plays solid defense and runs a fast-paced tempo. I watched Jaelyn at the Rockwood Tournament and can see how good she will become.

[player_tooltip player_id='543378' first='Olivia' last='Maciel'] – 6'1" – Blue Springs

Olivia could be one of the best all-around players in the 2028 class in Missouri. She was covered as a top pin because she can pound the ball, but she is also a sweet setter who can play great defense. With her height, she can get to overpass balls and set her middle or push to the outside. Blue Springs will be in great shape over the next three years with Olivia in the program.

[player_tooltip player_id='729561' first='Mia' last='Stone'] – 5'4" – Truman

The Patriots had one of their best seasons in several years due to the play of some 2028s. Mia helped run the offense for Truman. She finished the year with 364 assists while running a 6-2. Mia is quick to the ball and could turn into an outstanding libero. She would excel in either position.

[player_tooltip player_id='729593' first='Shelbi' last='Mead'] – 5'6" – Eureka

Eureka has a ton of talent throughout the program, and every level I watched this season has future stars. Shelbi helped run the offense with another dynamic setter and finished with 330 assists. Shelbi is a speedster with an excellent jump float that dies right over the net.
