It’s unclear what Nixa will run this season, but Creed has shown from a skill standpoint that she can run the show if needed. A 6-2 could be appealing for the Eagles, giving them a bigger block at the net, but Creed proved her value as a setter last fall by leading the team with 570 assists. She also has plenty of experience directing the offense and the versatility to make an impact in multiple rotations. Whatever system Nixa chooses, Creed should remain an important piece of the puzzle.

Peyton has taken charge of the offense, running it at a fast tempo and helping Nixa achieve a 4-1 start to the season. She recorded 43 assists in a win over Fayetteville, AR, followed by 31 assists against Webb City, 43 in a close loss to Helias, and 27 assists in a sweep of Republic. With her current trajectory, reaching 1,000 career assists by the end of the season seems well within reach.

The third setter in this bunch, Creed, is a leader on the floor and brings her A-game every match I saw her live this spring. She delivers good balls to her attackers from all over the court. In her freshman season at Nixa, she contributed in a two-setter system with just shy of 600 assists.

Creed didn’t disappoint in her first year on the Nixa varsity squad. She played in 106 sets as one of the two setters and spread the ball around to the tune of 583 assists.
