The team is working with some powerful arms that can play well above the net and deliver some thunderous attacks. The roster includes five players listed at 6'1” or taller. On the outside, that includes <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='454367' first='Isabelle' last='Lawhorn']</strong> and <strong>Josie Sheets</strong>, who are both able to play either pin and can go with big power at either spot. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='455952' first='Sofie' last='Williams'] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='523847' first='Rory' last='O'Connell']</strong> don't have the same size, but both bring a lot of athleticism to the outside and aren't lacking in explosiveness either.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the middle, Legacy has lengthy options in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='442973' first='Brooklyn' last='Rummler']</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='523848' first='Nicole' last='McDowell']</strong> and <strong>Aliyah Potapenko</strong>. Each has the ability to be a major force with their attacks or blocking, and have the ability to slide along the net and play some of the pins. This kind of offensive flexibility should lead to a lot of matchup problems for opponents.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Setting, Defensive Options</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Legacy will have the option to run a 2-setter system between <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='442969' first='Avery' last='Stepp'] </strong>and 2028 prospect <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='526553' first='Liv' last='Wender'] </strong>out of Lowell. Legacy may also run a 5-1 during the season, as Stepp is also a standout defender that can contribute in the back row. Both setting options have a lot of experience to rely on. With the size the team features, it should be a great opportunity for both to grow their game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Defensively, along with Stepp, Legacy 16-2 ADIDAS has <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='454376' first='Blair' last='Russow'] </strong>and <strong>Kaitlyn Gustafson</strong> contributing in the back row and from the service line. Both show a high court IQ and great instincts when it comes to locating where the ball is going. If they can play at high level, it's hard to imagine this team not being a handful for opponents.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Expectations</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Legacy challenged itself this past weekend, playing in the 16 Open of The Nike Classic. While the team dropped its first three matches, two of which came in three sets, it bounced back with five straight wins to close out the weekend. Legacy got a chance to compete against the likes of L2 161 and Rise Academy 61, which showed where it fits into the state picture. Holding its own with both, expectations for 16-2 ADIDAS are high going forward.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
