I love covering the younger, up and coming players. My favorites are the freshman and sophomores that are patiently waiting, hoping college coaches and scouts are taking notice, and that can't wait until June 15 after their sophomore year to actually take calls and begin the recruitment process. In the mean time, I try to highlight these gems and bring some additional awareness to who they are and just how great their skills are. Below are the few of the ones that have caught my attention already.

Only a sophomore, Vetter already has a state championship and a state tournament all-tournament team accolade. This OH hitter was at the top of her Hawley team's leader board when it comes to kills, hitting percentage, and digs. When I watched her, the first thing I noticed is that she is all over the court. She is attacking from both the front and back court and she is super smart about it. She knows when to take big swings and also when to off speed place the ball. I was even more awe struck by her reaction time and just how quick she is. Her defense is CRAZY good. Just when you are sure that a ball is going to drop, she some how swoops in to keep it alive. To summarize, she is a great player that any coach is going be lucky to have.

Tuttle also has state championship and a state tournament all-tournament team award to her resume as a sophomore. She is so captivating to watch. She is a dynamic outside that can terminate any type of set that comes her way. She transitions well and can hit the out of system junk, demolishes tempo, can run routes into the middle, and has a line shot that I am sure defenders in the right back position fear. Tuttle is poised to turn heads this club season as she is playing with a stacked [program_tooltip program_id='429186' first='Kandi' last='Elite'] team.

Pinckney preps at Marshall where she ruled the varsity back court in the libero jersey as Marshall once again earned its way to the state tournament. Pinckney is an excellent backrow player as she reads the ball well, creates great angles with her platform, and has precise footwork. She is constantly moving around the court to cover attackers and pick up those carefully placed tips and pushes. Pinckney will be one to watch this season as she takes her talents to [program_tooltip program_id='428857' first='Southwest' last='MN Volleyball'].

I love players that can do it all and Maya is one of them. This past school season she showcased her skills as not only a setter, but also an attacker. She moves her feet quickly and gets underneath the ball to set it to the target smoothly and with ease. Her out of system sets are especially crazy good to the pins. She is also an effective hitter. She takes big rips on the ball and scores kill after kill; but she also loves to school the defense by dropping perfectly placed tips all around the court as well. Maya is a great 6 rotation player that should be on many coaches radar.

Beckering is energetic and fun to watch. She preps at Southwest Christian and had a great run into the state tournament. Beckering is a powerful 6 rotation OH that can be seen dropping dimes on serve receive and attacking from every spot on the court. In addition, she is very solid on defense. She was top of the leaderboard in both digs and blocking for her team. With all of her great skills, it is no wonder that Beckering is a go to player that teams to go in crucial moments and rely on to win big games.
