PrepDig Resolution 15u Preview: Hefty Hitters Head to Appleton

The PrepDig Resolution is only a couple of weeks away. We have already examined some of the amazing 15u setters traveling to Appleton that are set to steal the show. Now, its time to take a look at the those hitters that will be there making those setters shine and helping their teams work their way to the championship game.

Vick is headed to Appleton after a strong high school showing. Seeing varsity time as a freshman, Vick knows what it is like to come up against fierce competition. Her ability to read the block, work around defenders, and put down an array of shots will be pivotal to her [program_tooltip program_id='428585' first='Elevate' last='VBC'] team's success. Vick is also versatile in where she hits and can be seen taking swings from either pin and out of the middle.

Maus is another freshman coming off a hot high school season at Lola-Scandinavia. Averaging 1.3 kills/set, Maus takes swings from all over the court. She transitions well, reads the block, and finds success not only when she takes the hard swings but by placing tips all over the court. I anticipate Maus to be a hefty scorer for her [program_tooltip program_id='428662' first='Wisconsin' last='Ice'] team when we see them in Appleton in a few weeks.

I am looking forward to seeing Zeeveld in action in a few weeks. Zeeveld preps at Sheboygan Area Lutheran School and saw her fair share of playing time this fall on varsity. Averaging 2 kills/set, Alisha has a quick arm with a solid vertical to propel her over the block and terminate a litany of shots including ones hard down the line. She also puts up a solid block making her a crucial player on both offense and defense for [program_tooltip program_id='431932' first='South' last='Shore Slam'].

Cusack is a true 6 rotation outside hitter. At assumption this past fall, not only did she play, but she was at the top of the varsity leader board in most categories including receptions, kills, digs, and aces. Cusack is a smart player with good court vision. While she can and does take big swings, she knows that she doesn't always need to in order to get the job done. She often can be seen hitting the ball in just the right spot or with just the right off-speed in order to rack up points for her team. Her serve is also lethal as the bottom just drops right out of it. It will be fun to see what role she plays as she brings her talents to [program_tooltip program_id='432014' first='Wisconsin' last='Flight VBC'] in Appleton.

[program_tooltip program_id='428646' first='Spiketown' last='USA'] is stacked with high level players at the 15u level and this includes outside/middle hitter [player_tooltip player_id='522525' first='Emma' last='Liebergen']. Averaging 1.8 kills/set, Liebergen contributed to Oshkosh West's success this past fall on the outside. Standing at 5'11", Liebergen is quick and has really good footwork to put herself in position to take big swings. She also reads the ball well on defense and puts up a monster block. [program_tooltip program_id='428646' first='Spiketown' last='USA'] will be a force to be reckoned with at the PrepDig Resolution and I anticipate Liebergen will be a major contributor.

I will be making sure to check out Hoel again in Appleton. I recently saw her play and know she is destinated for a great volleyball season. Hoel is another hefty hitter with a quick approach and wide array of shots. Gracelynn also reads the ball really well and thus, has strong net play. I anticipate her Blaze Volleyball Club team will do well in Appleton and that she will one of the keys to their success.
