One of the most competitive and anticipated tournaments in the entire club volleyball season in the state of Texas, the Tour of Texas kicked off last weekend in Houston, with three days of action that reunited each of the top teams in the Lone Star State.

Held across seven facilities in the Houston area, the event reunited over 400 teams, spread across its ten divisions. Even club teams from other states, such as California, Georgia, Illinois and Utah, made the trip to H-Town to compete, further elevating the level of the tournament.

Gonzalez was one of the cornerstones of the Alamo 15 Premier team that finished in second place in the division, with four wins and five losses. Her strong defensive game was a reflex of the team's scrappy, resilient playing style and gave them a lot of second chances. Gonzalez was excellent with her movement on the backcourt, flying from one side to the other with ease, and even better with her reflexes and ball control - she made some impressive overhead digs too. The libero led the team from the backcourt and was flawless in serve-receive, helping create the conditions for their intricate offense to flow smoothly.

Benjamin left a strong impression playing for Georgia's A5 151 Kelly team that finished third with three wins and five losses. A long libero, she took full advantage of her frame to cover a massive area on the court on both defense and serve-receive. Benjamin was very agile too, reacting quickly to tips and deflected shots and was very quick to get to the ground. She stood out with her excellent ball control and did a great job hand setting from the backcourt when the ball went her way for the second contact.

Adams was a stud on the backcourt for the Dallas Skyline 15 Royal - Yun side that tied for fifth with five wins and two losses. Her defense was among the best in the entire event and she got the job done simply by keeping things simple. Adams' positioning was excellent and did half of the job for her when playing defense, but she also thrived by picking the right moves and displaying tremendous ball control. The libero also did a solid job when she had to set in transition.

Osborn was the starting libero of the Madfrog 15 N Green team that got a fifth-place finish with a strong campaign of six wins and one loss. She was excellent in serve-receive and a lot of it was due to her perfect technique, fully positioning her body in the ball's path and avoiding errors. Osborn also stood out on defense, displaying impressive agility and incredible ball control. The libero was very disciplined when she had to cover her hitters and had good moments at the service line.

Nesloney and her teammates took their [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] 15 Adidas side to ninth place with six wins and two losses. The libero took responsibility for a large area of the court in serve-receive and consistently delivered perfect passes to her setter. Nesloney was very quick on the backcourt and also appeared well when playing defense, displaying great ball control and consistency. She frequently managed to get opponents out of system with her tough floaters too, contributing to the team in another area of the game.
