Sara once again proved why she is ranked No. 9 overall in the Class of 2028 by Prep Dig Texas, delivering an elite performance at the Tour of Texas Austin Stop. She put on a serve-receive passing clinic against top-tier competition, consistently giving her setters clean looks to run a full, balanced offense. In crunch time of tight matches, when her team needed a perfect pass the most, Gonzalez answered with confidence and composure. Her ability to dig hard-driven attacks is exceptional, as she reads hitters early and positions herself perfectly to control the ball. That defensive reliability allows her teammates to play freely, trusting that the back row is fully locked in behind them. Miss Gonzalez leads the floor with intelligence and calm, rarely looking rattled regardless of the moment or opponent. Her steady presence is a major reason Alamo’s chemistry remains so strong, as she organizes the back row and communicates at a high level. A true floor general in every sense, she is the type of libero every coach wants anchoring their defense.

Miss Gonzalez once again proved why she is ranked No. 9 overall in the Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, earning Top Performer honors at the 210 Countdown City Classic through elite ball control and composure in the back row. At 5’5”, Sara serves as the stabilizing force behind an explosive offense, allowing her team’s high-powered setters and attackers to operate in system consistently. From a technical standpoint, her balance and footwork stand out immediately, as she moves efficiently into position and maintains disciplined posture through contact. The angles she creates with her platform are exceptional, routinely rebounding the ball cleanly to the setter and keeping tempo intact even under heavy serve pressure. Defensively, she reads attackers early and absorbs pace well, turning hard-driven balls into playable transition opportunities. What separates Gonzalez is her poise — she never looks flustered, regardless of the moment or the score. With her reliability, precision, and competitive presence, she remains one of the most trusted and impactful defensive specialists in the state.

Gonzalez is the starting libero of the Alamo 15 Premier team that will compete in the 15 Bid division in Houston. The best player in the position in her age group, according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, she is one of the pillars of the team with her ability to make an impact on the backcourt. An elite passer, Gonzalez keeps her team in system with inch-perfect deliveries, creating the conditions for their dynamic offense to flourish. The libero also does excellent work when playing defense, using her impressive reflexes and superior ball control to keep the ball off the floor and generate transition plays for her team.

Gonzalez was one of the cornerstones of the Alamo 15 Premier team that finished in second place in the division, with four wins and five losses. Her strong defensive game was a reflex of the team’s scrappy, resilient playing style and gave them a lot of second chances. Gonzalez was excellent with her movement on the backcourt, flying from one side to the other with ease, and even better with her reflexes and ball control – she made some impressive overhead digs too. The libero led the team from the backcourt and was flawless in serve-receive, helping create the conditions for their intricate offense to flow smoothly.

Sara is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet.  She plays volleyball at Cornerstone Christian High School and plays club for the Alamo volleyball program.  Alamo is widely regarded as Libero U across the recruiting ranks due to their amazing liberos that come through their program throughout the years and Miss Gonzalez is one of the next great ones.  She has everything you want in a back row floor general and has been around the high level game for a number of years since she has an older sister who has come through the program and won a national championship before.  Sara has exceptional touch on the ball that allows her to keep the ball on her side on hard driven serves and attacks. What I truly love about her play is how disciplined her posture is while playing the ball.  She has been trained very well and it seems as though she is extremely coachable because her form remains the same with every contact.  Everything about her game screams “extension of her coach” on the floor and I wouldn’t put it past any coach to select her as a captain.  The game just comes very natural to her and you see it in her movements to the ball.  It is like she sees the play well before it is happening and is always in the right position to play the ball.  We are going to keep our eye on her very closely as we get to release the rankings soon.
