One of the most competitive and anticipated tournaments in the entire club volleyball season in the state of Texas, the Tour of Texas kicked off two weeks ago in Houston, with three days of action that reunited each of the top teams in the Lone Star State.

Held across seven facilities in the Houston area, the event reunited over 400 teams, spread across its ten divisions. Even club teams from other states, such as California, Georgia, Illinois and Utah, made the trip to H-Town to compete, further elevating the level of the tournament.

Flores' TAV 17 Black Jon team finished third with a campaign of six wins and two losses. Her setter/right side duo with [player_tooltip player_id='300846' first='Danielle' last='Whitmire'] was the core of the team as the two contributed a lot to the team's offense with both their setting and their hitting. A six-footer, Flores displayed impressive athleticism and firepower on offense and scored points at a very good rate. She also made excellent decisions, finding ways to beat blockers and defenders and avoiding errors.

Udoye played with the Austin Skyline 17 Royal team that ranked fifth after getting three wins and four losses. She also spent time in her original outside hitter position, but was very solid when used on the right. Udoye's offense was excellent on the right as she combined her tremendous firepower with an interesting ability to find nice angles and solid decision-making - she was pretty effective when swinging from the right-back position too. She made a big impact with her huge block as well and also stepped in to help in serve-receive on some rotations.

Lopez played for the [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last=''] 17 N Green team that got a fifth-place finish with four wins and three losses. Also capable of playing in the middle, she was flying on the right side of the net for her team. Lopez's vertical is incredible and it's probably even more impressive how well she can get off the floor without making a full approach in transition plays. She was also very intelligent with her shot selection, hitting over the top of opposing blockers and aiming for the end line, out of the range of the defenders.

Crowley and her [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] 17 Adidas side finished in the top ten, in ninth, with three wins and five losses. She was one of the team's main offensive weapons and responded well, scoring at a good rate and, perhaps most importantly, delivering in the big moments. What sets Crowley apart from most players in the position is her combination of physicality and finesse. She can hit with tremendous power, as she did, especially when set a quick ball on the right, but is also incredibly precise with her locations and with how she finds ways to beat blockers.

Parker and her HJV 17 Elite team finished 13th with one win and six losses. She was an interesting weapon off the bench for them, always coming well in the double dub and making an impact in the game. Parker was very intelligent with her swings and also contributed defensively with a solid blocking presence. She also helped the team in serve-receive on some rotations.
