I'm looking forward to receiving my first live look at the club's 16s this year when we all travel (not together) to St. Louis this weekend for the Nike President's Day Classic at the Americas Center.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='555712' first='Sophia' last='Meester'] is a headliner as a six-rotation contributor on this team after playing a key role in Mount Vernon's Class 3A state title run in November. The sophomore recorded 165 kills (.245) and 70 digs during the Mustangs' magical run.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In her first season as Iowa City West's starting setter, Lila Eastvold handed out 583 assists, adding 37 kills and 164 digs. [player_tooltip player_id='584675' first='Nataliya' last='Linder'] put together an impressive sophomore season at North Mahaska with 178 kills (.329) and 59.0 blocks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='758849' first='Ava' last='Meidlinger'] flashed upside for Iowa City Liberty in 2024. The middle hitter produced 75 kills and 35.0 blocks in a talented rotation. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As a Cedar Rapids Kennedy sophomore, [player_tooltip player_id='555707' first='Skyylan' last='Ousley'] proved to be an important Cougar with the versatility to contribute 130 kills and 104 digs. Her classmate, Addy Phillips, hammered out 144 kills with 31.0 blocks. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lexie Peters helped out Linn-Mar as a 10th-grader this past fall, chipping in with 29 kills and 28.0 blocks.
