Meester played a key role on last year’s state championship team after contributing the season before as a freshman. Now an upperclassman, Meester has been given more responsibility and has thrived with it. Her 296 kills through her first 85 sets led the Mustangs by a considerable margin. Her 232 digs and 32.0 blocks both ranked second on the squad. Scouting her at the Westside Invite on Oct. 11 in Cedar Rapids, Meester showed that she’d taken her game to another level. Not the tallest at the pin, she’s fundamentally solid and limits mistake by not trying to do too much. Meester always has hit line with ferocity, but she’s expanded her hitting zone this season and improved her attack from behind the 10-foot line. Much improved in the back row as a defender, Meester moves well. A high volleyball IQ helps her read the attack and get into proper position. She’s sound in serve-receive as well.

This past fall there was plenty of attention on Mount Vernon all season, especially with Louisville commit Chloe Meester Chloe Meester OH Mount Vernon | 2025 State #33 Nation IA and Arkansas commit Sydney Maue Sydney Maue RS Mount Vernon | 2025 State IA , but another athlete who had a breakout season was outside hitter Sophia Meester Sophia Meester 5'10" | OH Mount Vernon | 2027 State IA .  She came up big in the moments the Mustangs needed her the most.  Her clutch play resulted in being able to hold up the Class 3A state championship trophy.  She will be one of the go to player for Mount Vernon this fall and is getting some great experience playing for Adrenaline this club season. 

There’s another Meester ready to take off.  Sophia Meester Sophia Meester 5'10" | OH Mount Vernon | 2027 State IA had a breakout sophomore season for Mount Vernon en route to a Class 3A state title.  She racked up nearly 200 kills on the season where she provided great balance for a high powered Mustang offense.  She is a multi-sport athlete who knows how to win.
