Promising Texas Middles at the Sunshine Classic

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The club volleyball national qualifying season continues at full pace as teams from all over the country look to book their spots in the USA Volleyball Girls National Championship, which will be held in Dallas, between the end of June and the start of July.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This week, Florida will be the destination of many as the teams from around the country will be in action in the second week of the prestigious Sunshine Classic National Qualifier, at the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Many Texas teams will make the trip to compete in the Open divisions of the tournament in the 15s, 16s and 17s age groups and we're previewing the event by featuring some of the top Texas prospects who will be on the court. She's an extremely athletic player, who can cause serious damage to opponents if not defended properly, but stopping her at the net is no easy task. Thomas gets off the floor very well, has a heavy right arm and can swing in different directions. Her blocking is very aggressive and she has excellent timing up at the net, managing to get stops even when it seems like she's running late to get to the pins. A middle with extraordinary size and length, she makes a big impact in the game on both sides of the ball. Kitts' blocking is arguably the most impactful part of her game and what sets her apart from most middles in her age group. She uses her size extremely well to get stops, but is also great at reading the game and impressively mobile, a combination that further elevates her defensive game at the net. When she doesn't get a touch on the ball, Kitts at least affects the opposing hitter's decision-making, giving the defenders behind her an extra split-second to act. Intense is probably the best word to describe her game as the middle works tirelessly at the net for her team. Bailey's offense is a joy to watch as she has the ability to hit any set in the middle with incredible power and does an excellent job of making herself available for her setter in transition plays while moving to the ball with amazing quickness.
