Positional breakdowns continue, this time with the bigs. Here are five middles from around the state that we really like to take over in the middle.

The clear #1 recruit in the class of 2027, Carsyn plays up TWO years for the Samurai as their M1. Long, lean, fast and athletic, Miss Comer can take over a match in a moment's notice, either on offense or defense. Regardless of the match situation, where the ball is set, or what block she has in front of her, she can hit any shot at any time, with pace and purpose. Carsyn is a no-doubt Power Four recruit, and should start receiving offers this summer.

In the top ten among overall recruits in the class, Milana is part of the ten-foot club for Circle's top 16s team. Her length is her strength, as she can go over a lot of lesser blocks and combine her jumping ability with that length to adjust to sets that aren't quite perfect. Her speed is sneaky---if you're not careful, she's already transitioned and attacked before you're ready to defend. Her meteoric rise in the last two years is not a fluke; in fact, one could argue that she's right up there with Miss Comer listed above as a middle that will receive offers this summer.

A multi positional talent, Avery has done good things for us at our showcases in the past. Big and broad-shouldered, her ability to defend from pin to pin is currently her calling card. Her attack is heavy, and although she doesn't jump as high as the previous two listed today, she's still tough to defend with the weight she puts behind each swing. In-system, Avery is one of the tougher ones to stop, whether it's as a middle or a right side, depending on your needs at the next level.

The shortest on this list, Brooklyn more than makes up for it in athleticism and a businesslike attitude when playing. She might be the quickest in transition on this list, causing defenders to fail mostly because they have the audacity to underestimate her. She doesn't attend one of the "volleyball power schools" like some on this list, but that doesn't matter---diamonds can be found anywhere, and you could do a lot worse than Miss Wake in this class.

I first caught Kinley a few years ago at a high school summer league, looking like a giraffe learning to play. Fast-forward to today, and she's a full-on middle for one of the better clubs in the midwest. Long and lean for days, Kinley can add her jumping ability along with her impressive length to go over blocks, while also having the volleyball IQ to adjust to what her setter gives her and what the block presents. Lebanon is NOT a "volleyball school" in the traditional sense. But after watching Kinley play, she might be the first reason it starts becoming a hotspot for solid volleyball talent.
