With a brand new release of the rankings for the class of 2028 comes the standard series of articles that fill this week. Today's edition mentioned new additions to the class rankings since our last update in December. Here are five athletes from five different clubs that have made waves quickly---enough to grab our attention.

A solid, fully-capable six-rotation 5-1 setter is what you get from Paisley. With high hands, and understanding of advanced offenses and quick feet to get her to the ball, Miss Terry is already a major part of one of the best 15s team here in Indiana. Defensively, she knows what to do with the first ball when she receives it, and on offense, she's more than capable of reading defenses and taking what is given to her. In her showcase experience, she was more than capable of running her court well and with a maturity that had me do a double-take...this is a freshman?

It didn't take long last fall for Stella to wrest the reins of the libero jersey away from its previous owner at Avon. Solid in serve receive and energetic on defense, Stella has already understood the assignment required to wear the special jersey in the last eight months. Her footwork might be a tad busy for upper level libero play, but for now, her controlled platform is repeatable and consistent for her squad. I'm looking forward to Stella's development as next fall approaches.

Big and physical, Isabella represents a major shift from the norm in both Union and Providence. Both teams are usually filled with average-sized ball control specialists who use guile and craftiness to score points. In Miss Manos, both programs get a long-awaited big that can hammer away in the middle regularly, and at this age group, there aren't too many other middles as strong as she. For now, Isabella is an M2, but with time and experience, she could play both positions in the middle, plus some right side if needed in a pinch.

Quick to get up and quick to swing, Ragan is a raw and super athletic middle that is more than capable of terminating on strength and jumping ability alone. I've found that kids like Miss Ward are never set high enough, and the same rings true for Ragan. A springy M2, Ragan is just scratching the surface of her capabilities, as club ball is a new endeavor for her. For now, expect her to terminate on quick sets in the middle regularly, as her club training will allow her to learn more of her role on offense this spring.

Seeing time this season as a three-rotation DS, an occasional attacker in the front and a full-time libero at President's Day in Saint Louis, Alexis is a smooth and confident ball-control specialist from Providence, a volleyball power in southern Indiana. I've seen her pass, and her feet get her to the ball consistently without need to dive. I've seen her set out-of-system balls, which look confident and placed well for her pin attackers. I've seen her direct downballs and "beach rolls" when attacking, always picking the right spot that the defense dictates. In short, she gets it, which is a regular trait of most defenders at KiVA.
