Moving right along with our positional breakdowns, we'll use today's column to talk about some high-flying pin attackers from the class of '28. They each have their own way of scoring points, and there's plenty of style to pick from. Here are five athletes from five different clubs you should be well aware of in this class.

In short, this girl can JUMP. During the match, it's more of a glide, or even a hover, depending on the tempo of the set she's receiving. Once received, however, Amaya knows exactly what to do with the ball. Her athleticism is off the charts, and she makes gravity look irrelevant at times. I like the work she's putting in, as a lot of kids with her athletic ability try to ride that ability alone without taking extra reps. Not Amaya. She's also trying to hone her entire game, not just the attacking part. With her improved skills and out-of-this-world athleticism, she's on the right path for her recruitment.

Speaking of high-flying, Blaine carries herself in her play as if she's much older than expected. At least that's what I thought when I first saw her at our showcase in the fall. Miss Adams can get UP, and terminate with pace that's not normally seen in a package as compact as hers. Yet another from the Northeast side of Indy that can jump out of the gym, she's even willing to play multiple positions just so that the drill can continue with other kids' reps in mind. An athlete AND a classy teammate? Sign me up.

As if there weren't enough athletes on this list, along comes another Cripe from South Newton, this time in the form of Jada. Explosive and smart, Jada's undersized look is easily forgotten once you watch her play. I like the sense of urgency she plays with---very much like the rest of her family that's played this game, with a constant go-go-go attache to her style of play. Yes, the size might not translate to the next level, and she might have to be relegated to a smaller school if she wants to continue attacking. For now, however, let's enjoy Jada's ability to terminate at will against undisciplined blocks.

More of a right side than an outside, the majority of Macy's training is honed on the beach. Regularly placing high enough to be seen on the national stage over the summer, Macy's solid ball control and high attack point allow her to pick and choose exactly what she wants to do to opponents. Although a lot of her successes have been on the outdoor scene, Macy's ability to play for one of the better 4A programs in the state during high school and one of the best clubs around will allow her to develop organically---whether that's on either pin or on the sand.

Long, lean and explosive, Addyson uses every last bit of her 6'1" frame to go over a lot of blocks at this age group. She'll be called upon to terminate from everywhere in the coming years at CN, so her club season might be used to perfect her ball control and pass-to-attack abilities to become a full-time six-rotation outside. I like her shot-making ability, as most kids with her frame at this age merely hit straight ahead---the deception of the shot that comes with pace is going to treat her well in her future, and would be a great addition for any roster she's on.
