Pin Hitters Ready to Deliver at the Nike Cross Court Classic

One of the biggest club tournaments annually held in Houston, the Nike Cross Court Classic is just around the corner, with the 2025 edition of the event set to take place this weekend, from Saturday to Sunday, at the George R Brown Convention Center, in Downtown.   The Cross Court Classic is a gigantic event, which registered over 700 entries this year and will have teams from all over Texas and many neighboring states competing for two days in one of its 30 divisions.   Prep Dig Texas will be following the action closely during the weekend and reporting on the top teams and most exciting prospects, but, before we get there, let's get to know some of the most talented players who will be in action. This time we'll focus on the outside hitters:    Chandler will be with the [program_tooltip program_id='510661' first='Houston' last='Skyline'] 15 Black team that's entered in the 15 Open division. An extremely productive and consistent outside hitter, she should be one of the team's main offensive options of the weekend, making the most of her ability to swing from the left, the right and the middle back positions. When she goes up to swing, Chandler fools opposing blockers with an apparent slow approach before she explodes for the ball to hit it. She's also very good at making last-second adjustments with her final step, often opening up more court for her to swing. The pin hitter also does great work from the service line, consistently getting opponents out of system.      Solomon will play for the [program_tooltip program_id='745880' first='Houston' last='Stellar'] 16 Elite team that will compete in the 16 Open division. She's incredibly athletic and uses her physical tools to make a major impact at the net. Solomon has enough power to beat most blockers that get in her way, but she's also smart enough to tool them when that's the best option. The pin hitter also has a solid blocking presence and has made great strides with her backcourt skills, passing and playing defense at a high level.      Tuiasosopo will lead the STVA 17 Mizuno team in the 17 Open division of the tournament. She's new with the club, having joined this season from Alamo, but is a key piece in their playing system with her strong offensive game. Tuiasosopo can play on the left or the right, but has been mostly used at the pin with her new team, which makes her available more often, especially in transition plays. Her offense is extremely well-developed as with her combination of athleticism, a high contact point and the ability to hit sharp angles, she's very difficult to stop.      Hyde will be with Texas One - 18 Royal in the 18 Girls division. She's playing up with them, but is extremely important in what they do on the court with her ability to contribute on both sides of the ball. Hyde's physicality makes of her a tough matchup for any blockers and gives her a boost in out-of-system plays, but she can also be creative to find more refined solutions in difficult situations. The outside hitter also delivers with consistency on the backcourt, doing great work with her passing and defensive efforts.
