PD Madness in Miltown: New 15U Names to Know!

PrepDig Madness in Miltown kicked off at Center Court with the 15s in the morning wave. A tournament stacked with top talent, these girls showcased their stuff in some scrappy plays and epic battles. The following players are new names that caught our attention and found their way into the notes app to keep track of. A beast in the middle, Kujak contributes on both offense and defense. She has good footwork and a fast arm swing. She varied her shots and hammered down several kills to the deep corners on both sides of the court. Kujak also used her quick lateral movements to close the block stopping attackers on both the right and outside pin. Kujak is going to be one to keep tabs on she continues to grow and develop her game.     Carstensen is a dynamic and fun middle to watch. She is very methodic and deliberate in her movements. She does a great job reading the opposing team's setter, has a quick first step, and commits to where she is going, allowing her to close the block and frustrate many attackers. Carstensen is equally impressive on offense. A versatile attacker, she will take big rips from the middle and the pins that often hit the floor before teams can even react. Carstensen is one of those players we need to keep our eye on over the next couple of years.     Lefty attacker Hamilton was a major contributor on both offense and defense for her Elevate team as they went 3-0 in pool play on day 1. Hamilton read the block in front of her well and adjusted to generate several kills from the right pin. Her defense was also on fire as Hamilton put up a huge block, stopping many outside attackers in their tracks.     A 6 rotation outside, High was firing on all cylinders as she helped her team find their way into the gold bracket. High is one of those hitters that does a solid job cleaning up the out of system balls that come her way. She takes big swings and is able to connect on many of them for kills. She is also fun to watch when she is running routes out of the middle. Overall, a highly terminal attacker.     There is probably not enough good things I can say about Schmidt and her play today. As a 6 rotation outside, this girl has a hammer for an arm, hustles on every play, makes smart choices, and reads the court well. She is poised, handles tense moments with ease, and honestly, is one of those players that every coach wishes they had.     Senn is fast setter with a good, clean hands. She makes a point to move quickly to get her feet to the ball so she deliver a clean set to her middle and pins. On day one of pool play, Senn read the floor well, made good setting choices, and did a solid job getting all of her attackers involved. And, it paid off as they head into the gold bracket on day 2.
