Senior Spotlight: Five Competing in GJNC 18 National

Gielas has been one of the best pin arms in the greater Cincy area for the past four years and blossomed into one of the best in this Ohio class as her prep career progressed. She has length and range that will translate very well to the next level at Florida Gulf Coast. She wrapped her high school career at Ursuline with impressive numbers, including 1,231 total kills over 363 total sets for a 3.4 k/s average for her career. Over 760 kills were earned over the past two seasons, earning her all-GGCL honors both seasons, including 1st team in 2024.     Radaszewski was a key piece for Ursuline throughout her four-year high school career, earning 919 kills at a 43% kill rate. Her tools have been important for her [program_tooltip program_id='431827' first='Elevation' last=''] teams as well given her club career among a core group of athletes. Very impressive given the tough competition she saw across the net. She got it done defensively as well with 300 total blocks. With a state title along the way, she also earned all-GGCL honors twice, including a 1st-team selection in 2024. She takes her skills to Miami University (Ohio).     Barrick is another pin in the greater Cincy area that had a very full prep career both in high school and club. At 6'0, she has been jumping high and hitting hard since she arrived on the radar several years ago. She terminated 1,318 total kills as a varsity starter for four seasons, earning all [program_tooltip program_id='431851' first='MVC' last=''] 1st-team honors after each fall campaign. Terminating at a 47% rate for her career, she was stellar in other areas with 654 digs and 146 aces. Barrick's arm will next be scoring points at Lipscomb University.     Another standout prospect from the [program_tooltip program_id='431851' first='MVC' last=''], Hughes was big-time for Roger Bacon over her four seasons setting their offense, her final three seasons as their primary floor leader. With 2,643 total assists, she is a three-time [program_tooltip program_id='431851' first='MVC' last=''] all-conference pick, twice on the 1st team. Roger Bacon was a key factor at the state level throughout her career as they made deep runs all four seasons culminating with a state title in DIV this past fall. In that match Hughes dished 29 total assists to wrap up a season that also earned her a 2nd team all-Ohio selection. She is headed to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.     Weidman is a prospect that had steady development over the past few cycles that led to her best output this past fall for Ursuline as a DS/L. As a result, she earned an opportunity into a Division I program at the next level at Central Michigan University. With 529 total digs with the Ursuline varsity squad competing in the tough GGCL, a bulk of those pick-ups game in 2024 as she earned 405 to finish second in the league and earning her a 2nd-team all conference honor.
