With much of the club season behind us and as eyes begin looking towards this summer's national tournaments, it's a good time to assess what we've seen. Student-athletes from around Iowa have put their best on display for college coaches.

Here's a look at uncommitted seniors-to-be whose performances should have caught the attention of scouts.

I've scouted Groetke in high school and club the last few years. Her ascent has been fun to observe as her hard work as helped her maximize her natural gifts. Groeteke impacts matches at the opposite pin. Her height, long arms and lefty swing add up to her being a dangerous attacker. Groeteke has improved her consistency in getting the ball down. She's also an effective defender at the net. Good timing and leaping ability lead to Groeteke being an obstacle for opposing attacks. She cranked out 162 kills (.212) and piled up 64.0 blocks as a Dowling junior last season. Those numbers should spike in 2025.

During several in-person scouting opportunities since last summer, Evans has impressed me most with her consistency and versatility. In high school, she does it all through six rotations for Mid-Prairie. She led the Golden Hawks in assists (584) and kills (359), ranked third in digs (374) and even came up with 22.0 blocks. Evans holds down the libero spot for Adrenaline and the back row will be her college home. She shows good reaction time, quickness and lateral movement. Evans is a technically sound passer that is adept at reading the attack and getting into spots to make plays.

Wedgbury has steadily improved during the last few years. I first saw her in person two summers ago and periodically since then. Wedgbury has worked hard sharpening her skills and becoming physically stronger. She stands in against pace and never seems to lose energy. Wedgbury has become more vocal through the years and increased her confidence. She's quick and moves her feet instead of lunging. Wedgbury covers a lot of ground and keeps the ball in play as evidenced by her 461 digs for Cedar Falls last season.

Sumner-Fredricksburg reached a regional final last season with Buhman running the show. The junior dished out 858 assists to go with 86 kills, 240 digs and 49.0 blocks. She's continued improving this club campaign for a Six Pack outfit that finished second at the 2025 Iowa Regional Qualifier. A sound all-around volleyball player, Buhman shines the most when she's setting up her teammates. She moves smoothly around them during the action, regularly being in the right position to put up a usable ball. Buhman has a good feel for where her teammates prefer the set.

Jensen was making plays all over the place when I first scouted her in person a few years ago. I missed seeing her take the next step last year when a leg injury sidelined her for the club and prep seasons. The energetic senior-to-be is making up for lost time this winter and spring. She gives Six Pack whatever it needs. Jensen still moves and jumps well after the injury. She's really improved in the back row, her likely home on the next level. Jensen is a fundamentally sound volleyball player and a gamer.

I've watched Henderson develop through the last fews years, becoming a more well-rounded volleyball player capable of contributing everywhere on the court. She's continued honing her top skill - setting - while improving at other spots, a testament to her hard work. Henderson puts the ball on the money no matter where she's setting it. She defends the net and in the back row. Henderson showed off her swing from both pins when I saw her play at the 2025 President's Day Classic in St. Louis. I'm looking forward to what she can accomplish as a Clipper senior in the fall.
