Who Turning Heads? MN’s 2028 Watchlist Explored! Vol 1

With the first year of high school coming to an end, we know we have a ton of ground to cover yet with this class. The following are some big name players that are on our watch list. A setter running a 5-1 for her varsity team and also in club, Aday is already developing an enhanced game IQ and court awareness. She does a fantastic job of giving her attackers what they need to be successful. Playing on varsity since 8th grade and playing up an age level in club this year, she is competing in high level competition that is only going to make her better and better. Barnett is one of those athletes that clearly loves the game. She is a setter in the backrow and middle in the front row…not only a unique combination and skill set, but an exhausting one as well. Her passing and serve receive game has grown tremendously over the past several months. She receives off her midline, creates good angles, and delivers balls to target. She has done a good job keeping her team in system. She also effectively transitions off the pass to be a viable hitting option. She does a solid job transitioning out, takes an explosive approach, and delivers hard cross court and line shots. Hollerich also plays good middle back defense. She did a good job tracking balls from end line to end line and made some great saves. She has speed, a quick arm swing, great court awareness, and was introduced to high level competition last fall when she saw the varsity court as a freshman. Sidelined with an injury this fall that didn't allow her to play club this winter, I have no doubt this girl is coming back with more determination and spunk than ever before…and I can't wait to see it first hand. She has a passion for the game and she shows it in her determination, grit, and hustle. Eggert also has the skill to back up the mental game. She has a big vertical, even bigger arm swing, and the ability to terminate at will.
