2026 Rankings - Small Town Top Pins

With the 2026 rankings release, I wanted to share some of the top pin attackers from small-town Missouri. Here are four Class 1 and two Class 2 players to watch.    Ashlynn's been a starter at Miller from day one on both the volleyball and basketball courts. She's been one of the top attackers for Miller. And has over 1000 career kills. A very athletic dual-sport star is a smart hitter who can see the defense well and can play any position at the net. She's played middle and outside and never leaves the court. Ashlynn is more than capable of playing volleyball in college if she chooses this path.     The 5'7” outside hitter from Cabool High School led all of Class 2 in kills with 529. Sophia plays well above her listed height with a big vertical jump and a cannon of an arm swing. Sophia gets many opportunities on the outside and makes the most of them, finishing with 1566 attempts and 529 kills last season for the Bulldogs.     A starter from day 1 at Galena, Melanie is a tough player in Class 1 and has racked up over 1084 career kills with 632 of those coming last year to place her 4th in kills for all of Missouri. Another player who doesn't come off the court and is lethal anywhere she is set. At 5'7”, she is massive and can overpower her opponents. Should be in the hunt for Class 1 POY this coming season.     Ashley is one of the top left pin attackers in all of Class 1 in Missouri. She was the team's top six-rotation attacker at Bismarck, getting kills anywhere on the court. A high IQ player with a big bounce and a powerful arm. Plays great on defense, sucks up the passing lanes and is as big of a threat coming out of the backrow as she is at the net—tremendous athlete.     A tiny but mighty outside hitter from Class 1 power Advance knows nothing but success as she has two state titles and a runner-up finish. At 5'4”, Emma hits out of necessity, but she thrives in the back court. The team's top passer has over 1046 digs playing as a six-rotation outside. Emma playing libero at the next level shouldn't be a problem if she wants to go this route.     Leopold is returning a core group of kids who can make a push for a state title, and Piper is one of the top returning attackers. At 5'8”, she plays many roles, hitting on the left pin or coming out of the middle. A big vertical allows her to get on top of the ball, and her powerful swing makes her a ball-bouncing attacker. She plays great on defense, is a top passer, and is a solid outlet for out-of-system balls.
