Here is a look at four newsworthy Kansas prospects to begin your month.

Ava Esser Ava Esser 6'1" | OH Seaman | 2025 State KS , 6’1”, OH, Seaman, ‘25 (Johnson County Community College)

Esser finished ranked No. 61 overall in the final Prep Dig Kansas Class of 2025 rankings. She has verbally committed to play for Johnson County Community College. She added All-Tournament team status at the 18U National Tournament. She won a state championship with Seaman (2023) and also finished as a runner-up in 2024. She is an imposing and physical middle who should be an impact athlete right away at the collegiate level.

Reese Messer Reese Messer 5'11" | S St. James | 2025 State #8 Nation KS , 5’11”, S, St. James, ‘25

Another Kansas athlete who impressed this past weekend was St. James Academy’s Messer. She earned a spot on the 18 American All-Tournament Team. She finished ranked No. 8 overall in the final Kansas Class of 2025 rankings. After graduation, she will head west to play for the USC Trojans. She finished her prep career with 3,185 total assists over four years. She had three seasons with more than 800 assists. She also finished with 707 career kills and 998 digs.

Teagan Marrs Teagan Marrs 5'11" | OH Bishop Carroll | 2027 State KS , 5’11”, OH, Bishop Carroll, ‘27

Marrs recently registered for the Prep Dig Event in KCK. She is currenlty ranked No. 71 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027 rankings. She is already scheduled to be a “Stock Riser” when the rankings are updated on May 13. The Bishop Carroll prospect recently shared video highlights on social media from club play. She is a quick hitter with a powerful swing. She will want to check out the rankings on May 13 to see where she landed, and then again in August after the Showcase and before the 2025 prep season begins.

Landry Litton Landry Litton 5'10" | OH Beloit | 2028 State KS , 5’9”, OH, Beloit, ‘28

Litton has registered to attend the Stock Up Showcase in KCK. She is a multi-sport prospect who is also currenlty playing club basketball. The fact that she is taking time out of her busy schedule to travel over 200 miles to attend the event shows her dedication to the sport and her recruiting process. She ranked No. 3 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028 by Prep Dig. She is also ranked No. 83 overall in the Prep Girls Hoops Kansas rankings. She is a versatile athlete, and I look forward to seeing her shine at the Showcase.
